tezro problems

RE: tezro problems
Well tried dropping in the Dallas replacement, set the date and serial... System hangs and does not advance to OS loading or OS running.. Dropped back in the old Dallas chip, it's still holding it's date and serial number. So maybe it's the Snaphat that needs to be replaced. ? Have one on order.. Also when loading Flame, it messed up the display, which I reset as root in Single mode back to the default.. Thought that I was done getting the Tezro up and running. At least it's not as problematic and time consuming as getting my Onyx2 all up to snuff.

RE: tezro problems
Irix OS time and date are Snaphat RTC, not L1.

You won’t be able to straight boot to a new L1 RTC, you have to go through the-init of serial and default NVRAM values again (should be automatic).

Try a soft-reboot after you stalled out on first boot. At least on Fuel the first blank NVRAM step will result in error and reinit of default values, second boot actually uses default values. You have to “double tap”, two boots to reinit a default L1 RTC then use it.

Also I’d you have special NVRAM values, you were supposed to use printenv to copy down all values and then set them up again yourself. There’s no hot swap of RTCs so no way to transfer values.

If you lost resolution setting back to default, that’s normal. It was all stored in L1 RTC NVRAM.

Well getting a unreasonable date error when in single mode, so guess that's the Snaphat.. Will have to wait till the end of the week to get it sorted.

RE: tezro problems
Even with the glitchwrkz installed and the reset procedures, this error still appears:

Starting PROM Boot process
io_config_space: Found 0 Qlogic devices BASEIO; expected 1 or more.
io_config_space failed:
RSLT io_config_spac FAIL                diag_rc = 53
diag_io6confSpace_sanity: /hw/module/001c01/xtalk/15: FAILED
....

On the 2nd inspection of the IO9 board replacement, I noticed that qlogic chip is badly damaged by strike along with few components:

So there is still little chance that my initial io9 board scsi chip is just dead, the replacement board has its chip broken.
I have another IO9, that will get in few weeks and will try again.

RE: tezro problems
Did you already try your original iO9 now that you have the ability to reset your RTC NVRAM but just pulling the coin cell battery?
