tezro problems -

I haven't powered up the tezro for a long time. The last time I've used the machine it booted IRIX fine.
First I noticed some VRM problem messages(don't know if this is a problem):
Quote:INFO: Cannot enable VRM: 9

But it doesn't detect the IO9 board also:

Have you tried to boot it again, as it appears to have updated its hardware inventory?

Numerous times, same result. Do I need to replace the NVRAM battery on the mainboard as well as on IO9 board or this is something hw related problem?

Are you able to boot IRIX?
Usually if there's a VRM issue L1 will shut the machine down automatically once the VRM warnings have been displayed.
If anything, I'd suggest replacing the Snaphat battery on the IO9.
Here's a link to the thread where I discussed replacing the snaphat battery on my IO9:

Quote:Are you able to boot IRIX?
No, it wont boot, as it doesn't detect any scsi devices... as you can see, it misses the whole PROM's walking step.
I will replace the IO9 battery...

Confirm you have a keyboard and mouse connected, as it seems to be moaning about not being able to connect to a keyboard?
In my experience a Tezro will not boot without a keyboard attached
It will usually display “gfx error” on its LCD if no keyboard is attached.
RE: tezro problems -
kokoboi - 05-02-2021
It has nothing to do with the keyboard. This is the main issue:
Quote:io_config_space: Found 0 Qlogic devices BASEIO; expected 1 or more.
io_config_space failed:
RSLT io_config_spac FAIL diag_rc = 53

The IO9 snaphat being bad will cause weird issues like timeout during the scsi walking and sometime CD issues.
I have seen those VRM issues and usually it is the first time you start the machine. Once you have successfully started it up those should stop.

Thank you for your help.
Just ordered a battery, i hope it will arrive soon.

I’ll second, I know I’ve said who’s many times on the forums. This 3 VRM (9,10,11) warning are 100% normal, happen every time! I hate that it gives a false sense of danger. Totally normal, all my desk side Tezros do it.
My theory is there is a single L1 firmware for the entire family SGI Origin 3000 Arch’s. So some units must have additional VRMs and when they aren’t detected it just mentions it and moves on.
Also this is normally an RTC battery issue (could be IO9 or L1 or both):
From your posted L1 output:
NVRAM checksum is incorrect: reinitializing.
Automatic update of PROM environment disabled
