Do you have a monitor connected, that works? (13w3 to VGA)

Try powering it off, unplugging it, plugging it back in and rebooting.

Just one question, was the hard drive reading while it was standing still? As IRIX may have been loading, which doesn't show on the serial console until the "IRIS login" point is reached.

Well I just have a TV with VGA input at the moment, not a Monitor, I don't know if thats the point. But anyway there is no screen and also no line saying:
Checking hardware inventory …………… DONE

also no Harddrive blinking,

as it was before where I had this 5 option to choose I tried to start system from the console and iris was booting up correctly, but just without screen

Looking at my video, Mine doesn't appear to go further than that in the serial console either when the graphics are enabled.

Try disconnecting the keyboard and mouse and rebooting it, this should force it to a serial console output.

My Onyx2 is at my other home 1500KM away, so I don't have access to it at the moment. (If I did, I could offer you more help!)

Also, are you using a proper SGI 13w3 to VGA cable, as a SUN 13w3 cable will not work with SGI machines?

thank you for all your help in any case, well that means, that I need to see this screen in anyway on the monitor... meaning that my tv monitor isn't working correctly, I need to find and older VGA Monitor to test it I guess, I think that there is everything right with the Onyx itself the issue is my monitor..

Just try rebooting it with no mouse and keyboard attached, to see if it returns to its initial state.

I‘ll need to find an monitor I guess (haha) does it basically work with every VGA LCD Monitor or do I need a Special Monitor for it, because with my TV wasn’t working.. ?

I use Dell SE2416H monitors and all my SGI machines work perfectly on them except the O2, which requires a mod to the VGA cable to get rid of a green tint.

You need a monitor that can handle Sync on Green and it's also imperative that you use a proper SGI 13w3 to VGA adaptor or cable.

Ok thanks, as because of your Avatar pic, that Onyx2 was a Flame, I also had the stone wire array for it but sold it years ago.. ;-)

I use Dell 17" 1707FP & 1708XX LCDs and Samsung Multi Syncs (circa 2006-2008, check the monitor's manual. They confirm SOG/SYNC on Green). Dell 1707XX/1708XX models are very easy to get (last 4 I got were $10 each and worked great). For the cable, I think we generally like this universal 13W3-> VGA cable with DIP switches you can experiment with, certain machines seems to like different things, gives you a lot of options and it's inexpensive:

Since you've gotten into the PROM you might try booting IRIX in single user mode.

If the system boots, you can test the viability of your IR graphics hardware using irsaudit.
