For my life, I could not get a burned image, efs, iso whatever you want to label it as, to load 5.3 on the R4K, so going with bare bones base 6.5. Once the machine is up and running, will focus on the R3K and getting 5.3 loaded on it. Almost there, had to get a second CD-ROM as the first one I left on over night and some caps leaked. Good thing is that I picked up the drives for $20 each, so not to much of a investment. Just could not get a network load of the OS going, think that there is some bridging going on on my network that I need to figure out or just drop in a router so that the two SGI machines are really physically on the same sub-net.

There's unlikely to be any bridging going on. You probably just need a dedicated appliance for it. I could if you installed NetBSD on an RPi or something probably get it going.

The R4K is totally up and running and ready to get to work... Now on to the R3K. SCSI2SD 5.1 won't work in the Indigo, so time to order a 6.1 version..
