AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6

Re: AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
Before you reformat your system disk could you show us your sw_mount.log? (/usr/discreet/sw/log/sw_mount.log). Please also tell us if you have your tezro IP adress hard set by router or dynamically set by DHCP? Stone&wire requires IP adress to be always the same.

Re: AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
I have just reinstalled IRIX 6.5.30 on the machine together with Maya6.5, ProEngineer, Power Animator, and Flame.

I intend using the root account for Maya, Power Animator and ProEngineer, and the Flame account will only be used for Flame.

I haven't yet logged into the flame account.

Can I unmount and repartition the secondary drive now, or would you like to see something else from that disk?

Re: AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
I'm almost sure your problems were related to mismatched storage IDs in /usr/discreet/sw/cfg/sw_storage.cfg and /usr/discreet/sw/cfg/sw_framestore_map as a result of multiple tryouts of setting up volumes, partitions, from several accounts. This prevents from mounting partitions. Today I came back home so maybe could be more helpful. I live in Poland so we have equal time zone (it's now 8:43pm in Poland).
Now you can reformat drive.
During install check if stone&wire system is also installed.
After install check under shell (with root permissions, it can be done from root account) if all discreet background processes are started in chkconfig (ie. dl_stone and others must be on) - just type chkconfig and it lists all registered system processes with markings on or off . If not, start them (dl processes) just by typing chkconfig <daemon> on. after this you must restart system.
Then login to flame account and in xwsh shell window:
su
cd /usr/discreet/sw
./sw_stop
./sw_config
then add/create drive
save and quit
./sw_start
partition should be mounted, if not (you check it with ./sw_df):
./sw_mount all
if it is still not working try restarting the complete Stone and Wire package:
/etc/init.d/stone+wire restart
./sw_start
If no progress, let me know.

I wonder if it wasn't maybe a drive firmware issue, as this time it worked without any issues? (I swapped the drives out.)

I've just had some success, as the stone is now setup, but I now have a new problem, in that there is no video list!

If you have no video input/capture comment out the video device in /usr/discreet/flame_2008.SP6/cfg/init.cfg

# <video device>: XT-DIGVID
#
# <default video format>: Serial1
#
#Video XT-DIGVID, Serial1

Do you have a video capture device?

You are almost home. If you don't have video capture device all lines concerning video device should be commented out (with # at the beginning of line) in init.cfg as uunix stand above.

Just one question: How do you quit the program?

Well, yes and no.. You are currently missing at least the preference button, that allows you to exit the application.

using the hot keys..
Shit + Ins exits the application.
Alt F12 exits the application.
Alt Ctrl F6 Gets you to preferences.

It seems your resolution may not be correct, what res are you running at? Also what res did you choose for your project when you created it?

You should be seeing a menu area like this (sorry for the poor picture).
