This is the only setting found for this resolution in xsetmon and it's for dual screen:

The only other place where I found a vfo for this resolution was here, but my monitor only operates at 60HZ and I couldn't load it into xsetmon, as xsetmon complained that it wasn't a valid xsetmon vfo.

I have tried these in the past, and they unfortunately weren't compatible with my monitor, so I had to go in via serial to reset a compatible resolution.

I have just tried again, and am having to go in via serial to sort things out.

Why on earth do they give you 2@1920x1080_60 and not 1@1920x1080_60!!!!!!

I bought some really cheap monitors and they work fine with the Tezro/flame2008 (of course you will have to make sure to set the refresh rate of a project to 60hz, as I'm sure you must have discovered by now).

I'm currently using an AOC E2752S monitor

Re: AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
I think, I'm just going to have to try and find a suitable monitor! (easier said than done though, as that resolution isn't standard anymore!)

So Flame will have to wait for now!

At least it's running though!!!

Thanks for the help! Biggrin

This is definitely going to have to be a project, as loads of peripherals are necessary to effectively make use of this software.

What list peripherals do you suggest are absolutely necessary in order to make the most of Flame?

I went down this road - I bought a VBOB, a HD-SDI Sony Studio Monitor, Lucid ADA8824, big huge tablet. In all honesty you don't need any of it if you want to play with Flame. You can take a video, any video, break it down to single frames via ffmpeg (although as of now you would have to do that on a windows/linux box, the sgi ffmpeg is old), upload to the tezro, import them into Flame and go to town.

If you want to actually capture video via HD-SDI or SD-SDI then you would need a VBOB w DM5 card, a DM3 card in the Tezro (actually I forget the DM numbers but you get the idea), and you would have to get a storage solution also (be it an actual stone array, a few SSD's or 2TB SATA drives via SATA PCI cards, etc)

I guess it depends on what you mean by effectively using the software

I think it would maybe be a cool future project to shoot some YouTube videos of my vintage machines, making use of old, high quality camera equipment and processing them using Flame on my Tezro. (it would be a long term project though.)

So I suppose a VBOB w DM5 card would be an order then.

My Tezro's fitted with all of the necessary cards for a flame machine, so I will also make use of a fibre channel disk array then.

Is the Wacom tablet a necessity? (Or just a nice to have?)

Re: AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
tablet is sort of a pain, I would get a smaller one than the big massive one. I took the fibre channel cards out and put SATA cards in, I have 4 SATA drives where the CDROM drive was and I have an external SATA JBOD case with 8x2TB SATA drives. I had planned on making the 4 sata drives that are in my CDROM drive area my Framstore (It does something like 200+ MB/s r/w, and the 8 disks on the jbob a very very fast workspace/scratch drive with a backup of all my stuff(perhaps even perhaps link /usr to it - but I just haven't gotten around to it). Too many other interesting things to do with these machines taking up all my time
