RE: Latest purchase?
An IRIS Indigo from @longjohn.

It's in pretty good cosmetic condition:

It's an R3000@33MHz with 40MB of RAM and Entry Graphics: (I replaced the battery with a socketed one, as soon as I unpacked it!)

I don't currently have the correct keyboard and mouse, so this is as far as I could get for the moment after replacing the battery!

I'm going to still order in some parts for it from Ian Mapleson at a later date. (Max out the RAM and give it Elan Graphics)

Or Maybe just max out the RAM and see how the entry R3000 system measured up to a maxed out R4000 system! (Would make an interesting video!)

In the future I hope to do a shootout between this machine and my other IRIS Indigo, which is a maxed-out R4000 system.

RE: Latest purchase?
I've just bought a host interface card for my Nvidia Quadro Plex 1000 Model IV: (So hopefully I'll have it up and running in the near future!)

All I want to see is its Crysis performance, as it was the best graphics option available at the time of Crysis's release! (So can it run Crysis???)

I'm going to remove the GTX 690 From my Alienware machine and pair it with the Quadro Plex, as they're both the same vintage and see how they manage Crysis as a team!

Here are some pics of the Quadro Plex itself:

RE: Latest purchase?
I just managed to snag an EPIPHAN DVI2PCIE ESP0705 VIDEO CAPTURE CARD, so when it arrives I'll stick it in my Alienware machine and hopefully be able to make videos with better quality screen content!

Here's a link to the EPIPHAN website: https://www.epiphan.com/products/dvi2pcie-duo/

RE: Latest purchase?
I just bought one of these as one of the first upgrades on my Alienware Area 51 7500, as I wanted a very fast PCIe SSD, which is bootable. (OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 series PCI-E 240GB PCI Express 2.0 x4 MLC Internal SSD)

I already have one of these in my main PC, and it's been a good experience. The drive offers a 1,5 GByte per second read speed in that machine, so it will be a serious upgrade for the Alienware, as the SATA drive in the machine is definitely its greatest weak point!

Not bad. Tell us how it works.

I'm considering this for my classic Mac Pro:

I've many times considered changing computers but now I decided I will save up for something like a Talos, so my Mac Pro will see a bit more of love.
