Latest purchase?
RE: Latest purchase?
My friend got me an early birthday present - he smuggled out a S9300 X2 from his workplace that was gonna be decomm'd. Replaced it with a DOA RMA he found in the back room and then just carried it out in his toolbag. Good for mining hopefully!

Beyond that, I'm eyeing some CPU upgrades eventually.

Bought a DS5100 NAS with the money from Weblacky's Octane purchase.

Got a metric-pattern Icon Box end wrench set for working on my car.

RE: Latest purchase?
My latest purrchase: https://www.newegg.com/-/p/N82E16833156293

It's a 16-port gigabit switch with a whopping 32 gigabit switching capacity. That means it can do full-bandwidth between all 8 port pairs. Freaking awesome!

Last week I bought a 500ft spool of Cat6a, some RJ-45 connectors, and a $90 crimping tool. The crimper only costed me $17 tho, since it was returned to Amazon, so yuge savings there. The idea is to use wired ethernet as much as pawssible in the new house, to free up radio time so our wireless devices can get moar throughput.

Insane Kitteh!

RE: Latest purchase?
My latest purchase: a NEC EA193Mi monitor. It's more or less current technology: IPS panel with LED backlight, on the other hand it has 1280x1024 resolution and a HD15 input supporting sync on green. A perfect match for an Indigo2. It replaces a NEC LCD1990FXp which was starting to show it's age.

The sharpness on the analogue input is pretty good. The black level is what can be expected from an IPS screen. It can be tweaked a bit but I didn't bother.

A TEAC SCSI  2.88MB floppy drive.  I already have an original SGI one with a Indigo sled. The old one is recognised by the system and works well except it refuses to read floppies. I hope this new one will able to read them...

I am no longer posting from the moose, SGI O2 with R10k/250, 1GB RAM,  IRIX 6.5.27, unfortunately.

RE: Latest purchase?
I've just purchased 8 of these original midrange units as well as 4 of these filter caps as well as this terminal base cover for my Beolab Penta's, which I seriously need to start working on!!!!

I still need service kits for the amps and crossovers, as well as thicker gauged blackened polished stainless steel clad, which I'll arrange for and get made up locally!

RE: Latest purchase?
I always fancied and B&O. I'd walk past the B&O shop on the way to school in the early 90's and it was another world. Then after school I'd go home and rock out on my $30 Alba cassette deck. It was total dog $h1t but it was mine.

I won't begin to understand what your purchase is but I hope when it's done you'll send an update!
