RE: Commercial Software Request Megathread
If you're looking for Irix 6.2 and before go up a level to drivers (you'll find Wacom 3.2 drivers) and they'll be categorized by operating system first. Also it's possible that you may need the nekochan\OSS Bzip2 and GZIP to untar them...perhaps the Irix-specific utils weren't used to create the archives...I'll check on modern utils.

UPDATE: Yeah 4.7.2 untars/ungzips just fine on modern utilities. That means it was archived with a more recent utility than what you have on your station.  Download it on your PC or Mac and use modern utilities to open it then transfer the raw files using FTP to your Irix station and install them.

But that's something you unfortunately have to deal with. All most of the time the compression and archives were done entirely with the newer open source software that the group uses. So if you're on 6.2 specifically I don't know what to say. If you're on 6.5 ask Raion where to start, but you need to load all new tar and zip and all the basic bash and all that stuff first so that the utilities are recent enough to unpack the software. Unless it's in a tardist it's not going to be directly SGI utils friendly.

RE: Commercial Software Request Megathread
I've been able to get version 3.2 working to a limited extent. I'm looking for version 4.5.1 because that is what I used to have installed on this machine under IRIX 6.2. It has a way more thorough control panel as well.

Still having issues with 4.7.2.
When trying to extract 4.7.2 under Ubuntu 24.04, for example, I get this:
$ gunzip Wacom_SGI_4.7.2.tar.gz
gzip: Wacom_SGI_4.7.2.tar.gz: unexpected end of file

RE: Commercial Software Request Megathread
Try 4.8, it unzips for me...

UPDATE: So good news and bad news. I found another copy of 4.7.2 that unzips: https://web.archive.org/web/202103101327...7.2.tar.gz

The downside is to readme expressly states it's for Irix 6.5... So if you're trying to use it on 6.2 it's not the correct driver for you anyway.

UPDATE 2: According to Google Gemini and all other documentation I can find, the Wacom 3.2 package contains the Wacom 3.1 driver which was the driver designed to operate with Irix 6.2. Whoever they claim it was only tested on the following platforms:

IP17, IP19, IP20, IP21, IP22, IP25, IP26.
(Check the output of hinv(1) to find your CPUBOARD type:

CPUBOARD        type
IP17            Crimson
IP19            Onyx except 10000
IP20            Indigo R4k*
IP21            Power Onyx *
IP22            Indigo 2, Indy R4&R5k
IP25            Onyx 10000
IP26            Power Indigo 2
IP28            Indigo 2 10000)

Yeah, the 4.8 archive extracts fine. That driver is for IRIX 6.5, though...I've gotten that working perfectly with the same tablet and pen on a 6.5.22 Octane.

I'm still looking to get up to driver v.4 for my Indy running IRIX 6.2. I see there's an upgrade to v.4.2.0 , but it requires v.4.0 installed. Bah.
Maybe what I need to do is try downgrading to v.4.2.0 over my broken v.4.5.1 install. <face palm> Can't hurt to try, I guess.

Yeah, good on you for tracking down another 4.7.2 copy, though. Maybe it can be tossed up on nekofiles to replace the broken one.
