Ha - it's strange, I was also worrying all day about that reply because I'm waiting and if I'm right, the taint ends with me since I replied. So, whatever you are waiting for will now shunt my waiting for to the back of the waiting for queue. :-) The poor man is definitely over worked and one of the kindest and more communicative peeps I've met in the community, or indeed in life. Pretty sure he's some kind of workaholic.

New Zealand is a fair way off Scotland. Your package will probably come en-route past my gaff. Luckily, I never saw a better packaged unit than the absolute tanks Ian sends. He shipped me an O2 about 2 years back from UK to UAE and when it came it was exactly as it had left his hands I am sure. Bubble wrap, brown taped, everything labelled, surrounded by foam and peanuts. Bloody amazing, not sure how he does it. I reckon in fact that one of his rooms must be like a ball swamp in a kids funhouse. Just instead of balls it's packing peanuts.

When you get what you need chuck us a picture or two, I love seeing peoples home labs and gear.

All the best

Hi DefaultRouteUK,

the Browservice proxy is sufficiently simple to set up that I think it easiest to just have people set up their own personal proxies.

Thank you for the helpful video on YouTube.

I am now "Browserice" enabled:

Hi jwhat,

You’re absolutely right of course. Actually the hosted service isn’t a flex, nor a brag not even a challenge. As you say, compiling the code from github is fairly trivial. That is not to disrespect the code behind the project however, I tip my hat there. I could absolutely never write something like that.

The idea here was to help out a bunch of people that may not have the time, care, or environment. A lot of peeps just have old DOS or Windows stuff they just want a quick and dirty way to fire up Netscape. It’s not only us guys using the proxy now. I’ve seen headers for all kinds of platforms from NT, Solaris some gecko even lynx! Crazy times.

So, yeah, good job and good luck with your personal proxy. I love it too.

All the best
Rich

Try switching to 24-bit X server, otherwise not much that can be done. GTK2 has never worked correctly on IRIX.

Technical problems should be sent my way.
