enter your root password if you have one

type the following to set a 1280x1024 @ 60Hz mode after reboot

/usr/gfx/setmon -x 1280x1024_60

followed by

reboot

Jaq I'm getting this error:
Type /usr/gfx/setmon -x 1280x1024_60 unknown

Am I doing this correctly?

EDIT: Fixed by pressing ctrl-d which brings up a proper terminal prompt, then the command worked.

Sorry, only seen this now.

You need to have booted into single user mode from the prom command monitor. When it dumps you at a prompt after pressing '5', type 'single' followed by enter, this will land you at a shell prompt where you can execute the /usr/gfx/setmon command. (and any other shell command for that matter if you've managed to bork something). It's like booting into Single User Mode on a Mac.

Glad you got it sorted though.
