Restoring an Apple Adjustable Keyboard
I purchased this Adjustable Keyboard to pair with my G3 Beige, which I recently restored: (And as you can see, it's a bit yellowed!)

Here's the disassembly process:

Keys cleaned! (Luckily these won’t need retrobright treatment!)

I chose to purchase the Hydrogen peroxide in a 50% concentration from a company which sells laboratory supplies (allowing me to dilute it as required), as I knew that I'd need allot of it for this job! (It works out allot cheaper than purchasing it from a beauty salon!)

Here's the method I used to redrobright:

I placed drinking glasses on the plastics to weigh them down, as the sunlight can pass through the glass.

As the UV from the Sunlight breaks the Hydrogen Peroxide down, it produces a huge amount of Oxygen, which would cause the plastics to float if they were not weighed down.

I took this picture while the plastics were drying off after as good rinsing, following the redrobright process.

Here the keyboard is reassembled: (This was definitely the most tricky thing I've had to disassemble and reassemble so far!)

Here's a before and after shot, showing the difference:

All in all, I'm pretty happy with this result. (But just a warning, these things are pretty tricky to work on)

Just for our information, how much did you end up diluting the hydrogen peroxide? I thought you were supposed to run something on the order of 10% to 12% solution? What did you end up doing there?

I initially diluted it down to 12.5%. (One part Hydrogen Peroxide 50% to three parts water) and then proceeded to dilute it further, probably to about 8% in order to get the volume of liquid I needed in the containers.

Even in it's diluted form, the liquid was highly reactive and if it splashed on you, it started to burn (itch) immediately. (The Peroxide liquid is tricky to manage and dispose of without getting some on you.)

We use 70 percent hydrogen peroxide (in water) with a kerosene type fuel, sometimes JA-5 (jet fuel) as liquid propellant in our guns. Works good if you ignite it vigorously, otherwise it tends to detonate and blow the gun apart. Burn, don't blow up.

70% Hydrogen Peroxide must be pretty wicked stuff!

It's not too bad, the 80 percent range is where you start getting into some real safe-use issues. There really aren't any hydrogen peroxide manufacturers who will concoct at 80 percent; it's just too dangerous.
