Latest purchase?
RE: Latest purchase?
I've found that patience usually always pays off! (I'm glad you found what you were waiting for!)

The MaxImpact's a real BadAss looking piece of kit! Biggrin

I hope it performs well in your system!

RE: Latest purchase?
In the last few days I've picked up a number of 80's retrocomputing hauls, which include my first Model M keyboard and Amiga. Anybody know if it's possible to hook up an Amiga 500 to a television, or will I need to buy a Commodore monitor?

The A500 does have a composite (RF?) output that you can use with a TV, but it's grayscale-only for...reasons? You'll definitely want a compatible monitor.

Computers: Amiga 1200, DEC VAXStation 4000/60, DEC MicroPDP-11/73
Synthesizers: Roland JX-10/SH-09/MT-32/D-50, Yamaha DX7-II/V50/TX7/TG33/FB-01, Korg MS-20 Mini/ARP Odyssey/DW-8000/X5DR, Ensoniq SQ-80, E-mu Proteus/2, Nord Lead 2, Behringer Model D

All A500 came with an A520 RF output. You should have one in that A500 box. There are different ones for NTSC and PAL. Alternatively there are lots of aftermarket SCART cables you can use instead of the A520. The composite output should be coloiur, if it's not it might mean the TV doesn't support the correct signal.

RE: Latest purchase?
It didn't come with an A520, just the power supply, mouse, and an external floppy drive. Guess I need to start looking for a proper monitor.

I've just had the unfortunate experience of having my car's timing chain jump a notch due to a failed timing chain tensioner. and it's costing me $4300 to have the engine repaired. What a bummer, but such is life Suppose! :( (It's a purchase that I'm going to have nothing to show for!)

Let me guess, Volkswagen TSI engine?

NB: I can only hope I'll never have much to show for my latest purchase: new security cameras Biggrin

You're basically hit the nail on the head! Pardon the pun! (Seeing that my pistons slammed into my valves!)

It's an Audi 2.0 TFSI Quatro engine. Horrible design, but runs very well, when it runs.

I won't buy another Audi or BMW!

RE: Latest purchase?
Ah Trippynet, so you're the one who outbid me for that Max. Biggrin I won the first set the guy had (he delivered in person) and the 3rd which ended yesterday; I bid a bit higher for the 3rd as I could afford it for a change.

I bagged an R10K/195 I2 SolidIMPACT this week, being delivered today, no idea if it works or not, so fingers crossed. Am hoping it has some 128MB RAM kits.

And though perhaps not counting as a Latest Purchase, just bought some Schuko sockets/plugs and 25m of 16A cable so I can fiiiinally wire up the Onyx3800 in my garage, poor thing has been sitting there never powered on for 10 years. :} Reminder from the distant past:
