Have you tried running an old 16 bit version of Netscape? Not that it would be good for browsing much. Jamie Zawinski restored the original version of the Mosaic Communication website at mcom.com so you could at least look at that... 😁

DosBox doesn't have any native form of network emulation, so this might prove to be a problem!

I've now managed to install a newer version of Microsoft Office!

I initially had problems, as it wouldn't run and kept on asking me to exit windows and run "share.exe".

"share.exe" is incompatible with DosBox, but I did manage to find an alternative which works here: (The download link is in the video description!)

Here are some images of Microsoft Office running:

any reason you decided to go with dosbox and not softwindows 2.0 ? Is it just for greater compatibility?

It’s indeed for greater compatibility!!!

For example SoftWindows 2 does not emulate any sound (audio) hardware, which really detracts from the experience, in my opinion!

There’s also much more support for DosBox out there!!! (It has quite a following!)

The 90’s were the best days of my life! If I could, I’d go back in a second!

It is amazing how such things take you right back to that time!

It makes the hobby worth while!
