I need a confirmation of the last firmware versions for Tezro/Fuel.

Exclamation  I need a confirmation of the last firmware versions for Tezro/Fuel.
Hi All,
I'm confused about the SGI patch sequencing to the get the latest/last PROM.  I need to bring Fuel and Tezro Systems up to final firmware revisions.  I assume I should upgrade L1 to final patch 7149 L1 firmware 1.48  (stepping L1 versions, as we all know) BEFORE upgrading a PROM.

Otherwise..I need advice.

So I know about the L1 updating sequencing, that's okay.  I'm very confused about the patching order or if it's even required for PROM.

Either way, I thought the PROM-related firmware Patches were:

Code:
Patch 7208: IP35 PROM to fix fibre panics in tg_set_flow_ctrl()                  31-Jan-2008
Patch 7149: System Controller Firmware/Software Updates for IRIX 6.5.24 - 6.5.30 30-Jan-2007

But which holds the last PROM firmware?

I've read this (https://forums.irixnet.org/thread-2515.html) but I'm still concerned, so need reassurance, please.

I want to get this right the first time!

Thanks,
weblacky

It is found in patch 7208.

Here are two threads I posted on this subject:

Am I right in assuming, no matter what my firmware situation is, that I should manually upgrade the L1 through the recommended version laddering to 1.48 and then just install these two patches through the software manager?

Since the 7149 patch will not correctly ladder upgrade, if it attempts to install it will likely brick one of the L1 slots, correct?

Does the PROM work the same way? After manual upgrade to L1 1.48, should I then install 7149 via inst and then install 7208? Will those PROM flashes happen automatically on inst or does it just put the bin/img file in the correct folder where I still need to run the flash command in myself?

Just trying to understand the ordering.

I dont think the L1 firmware gets automatically updated, the PROM does though..

I had to manually upgrade my L1 firmware on all of my machines, even with patches and irix installs.

The PROM doesn’t automatically get updated on a Tezro, as far as I know!

I installed the patch and then had to flash the PROM manually in order to get it to 6.211.

I does when you upgrade the operating system. Other than that you have to do it manually.
