Fuel and Tezro graphics cards can be interchanged?!?!
OK,
So this may be just dumb of me and everyone else on the planet knew this, but I always thought every SGI model has its own graphics...no interops.  So I've been looking for a FUEL V10...not a TEZRO V10/V12.

The dealer I bought my V10 from (shipped and in the mail, expected this Friday) claimed he tried to start his test Fuel...it didn't start (I guess he doesn't run his systems regularly).  He claimed he had to insert the V10 (030-1725-001) Card into a Tezro and run it for testing (how much testing isn't certain, he claims this slowed him down to get the normal testing runtime...I don't know what "testing" was actually done).  So I'll have to do my own "testing" when I get it.

I asked him about it, he said he knew you could insert the earlier V10s from a Fuel XIO into Tezro XIO without issue!

I never looked, hard, at the two system's graphics cards.  Did I just not know this?  Anyone else done something like this before?

The IP35 VPro graphics boards are interchangeable between the Fuel and Tezro. With minor changes to the heatsink/fan assemblies you can also run a Fuel V10 or 12 in the server version of the O350 (there's a graphics compatible XIO slot on the PCI riser).

Yes, the SGI Fuel/Tezro both use an XIO port. The Tezro NEVER shipped with a V10 -- it was always a cheaper FRU option though, that's why you see people piecemealing. Otoh, both Fuels and InfinitePerformance bricks used V10s, and the Onyx350 (which is near identical to a rack tez) had it as an option.
