Dead Rack V12 (?)

Dead Rack V12 (?)
Hello everyone,

I recently acquired a rack V12 for my Tezro and unfortunately it is not working. I suspect that it is not going to work either based on the errors it reports back. I'm looking for any additional thoughts on what the issue might be, but as I said, I'm not expecting anything good.

Here are the specs:

Dual 700 MHz IP35
1 GB of RAM
Previously installed modified Fuel V10; removed and replaced with V12

The V12 came with a DCD which I have carefully removed for troubleshooting.

Here's what happens when I try to manually start the pipe:

Code:
# /usr/gfx/startgfx
Sent SIGHUP to xdm
# /usr/gfx/gfxinit
NOTICE: odsy board 0: CORRECTABLE_ECC_ERROR received [single] (5)
# WARNING: odsy board 0: UNCORRECTABLE_ECC_ERROR received
ALERT: odsy board 0: Graphics error
odsy flags: 0x4<UNCORRECTABLE_ECC_ERROR>
odsy status0: 0x10024080<CFIFO_ENABLED,CFIFO_LW,XRFIFO_LW,RASTER_SYNC_SRC=unset,CFIFO_SYNC_SRC=unset,DMA_SYNC_SRC=unset>

Please let me know what other info I can provide. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help!

Yo,
I have a near-term plan for researching and possibly fixing these failed V12 cards. Please post your exact V12 model number and private message me on this to get in a potential queue in the near future.

I'll hopefully know more in a week if we are proceeding or not but I already have a client that has very similar V12 errors to what you're posting and we're not sure if it's overheated/damaged memory because there's no cooling on these memory chips or if it's some other damage that just looks like the memory malfunctions. But it's an upcoming research project. So please hold onto the card and let me know what model you have!

Thanks!

It's just a memory error, the ECC memory chips on the V12 are socketed, just replace them and you'll be back in business.

Plan: World domination! Or something...

ECC memory chips?

Here's the backside of a random V10. The memory is the array of Samsung K4S643232F-TC70 chips. Those are 2Mx32 capacity and there's another set on the other side of the PCB. Those are not socketed. While they can be replaced it requires skills and equipment. And without an indication of which one is faulty you'd have no choice but to replace all of them.

These boards are notorious for broken solder joints. If you have a microscope check all of the ram pins for solder cracks. I have salvaged several of these by reflowing pins.

Also, did you make any changes to the machine before this symptom started?
