Catia V4

RE: Catia V4
I now also have Catia V4 installed on my Octane2: (Thanks again to @gijoe77 for the help!)

It would have been allot easier if I had read the updated version of his installation notes, as the installation onto this machine was not as straightforward as it was on the O2, requiring all of the stops to be pulled out!

To be honest, I don't really know, as I haven't as yet worked on a large model in Catia.

My O2 has the same spec as yours, and it runs very respectably on that machine.

It will be a while until I really get into Catia, as I still have some work cut out for me!!! (Cleaning up the O2 .stl model in Blender as well as the CM-2, a Maya 6.5 Blender combination!)

I just need to build up the motivation to continue on these, as I have way too many hobbies and interests to be able to focus on everything at once!!!

Nice speakers! Smile

Many years ago I considered the concept of constructing driver diaphragms out of "paper clay" high quality clay (more than likely china) filled with wood pulp, which is then fired. The heat from the firing burns the wood pulp, leaving a lightweight porous ceramic, which is strengthened by the increase in its internal surface area and it's irregular structure eliminating standing wave formation across it's surface.

It could even be formed as a ceramic/titanium composite (Paper Clay with an inlayed Titanium Mesh, which is then fired to form a metallic ceramic composite.)

Ceramics are an awesome material to work with!
