So I was installing some software from the ftp  the other day. when untarred some of them were packages instead of files, when clicked they open the software manager.  After I rebooted my unix root file on the desktop turned from a file to a package. What makes a file a package and how can I turn it back?

The italics mean that that file is a link. It's supposed to point to /, but it may have been pointed somewhere else. Don't have my SGI with me yet, but you can right click and see where the link goes IIRC, or you can definitely open up a terminal and do a ls -l. If the link goes somewhere it shouldn't just recreate it.

Could you be more specific? You don't like that the theme doesn't have buttons?

Some people complained about the old look which had a lot of unicode chars in the theme, so I changed it up with our new iteration.

I'm hesitant to pour anymore money into a theme until MyBB 1.9 - what we have works mostly.

Sure so the theme itself is fine I love darkmode so much with white letters easy on the eyes. What I mean by buttons is , at the bottom of someone's post there is reply and quote. Sometimes though a post doesn't need a reply but you still want to show appreciation. So similar to Facebook many forums have a like heart smiley etc button. Most people probably view it as a waste of work for a points button, but I do enjoy them.
