Host name changes...

Host name changes...
My Fuel's hostname is set at IRIS.. When I plug in my network cable it changes to IRIS.Home.. This messes up a few flexlm license checks, anyone know how to make sure that it stays at IRIS? Have hard coded IP address.. I checked /etc/sys_id, states hostname as IRIS.. also checked /etc/hosts also shows IRIS.

However, there are at least two apps with flexlm that state it can't find a server to check the license file against. Really strange stuff.. Any help is appreciated.

That's strange, as my Tezro has no issue with Flexlm license checks if the host name changes????

You could set your system up to connect to the internet using a static IP address. (This may help in your case, if you keep your system's name as IRIS)

I covered this in this video:

The domain is set to Home... not sure where it's picking this up from.. When I try DHCP, no luck with flexlm..

RE: Host name changes...
that's your reason it's set to IRIS.Home - that's how hostnames work under *NIX: hostname + search domain = fqhostname

Delete that and reboot.

Will give it ago.. It's been too long since I have had to deal with hostname issues..

Probably a nodelocked license. That only depends on the system ID.

Once you get started with floating (site) licenses, a license server name is part of the FlexLM configuration.

Nope, does not fix the issue. When I deleted the line, it caused other apps to not work.. I also removed another nameserver entry, nada.

What apps? If they're in the hax-force license file you should use that, because all those licenses are all HOSTID=ANY Cool
