how do I change a o2 psu fan?
So I've got a o2 FINALLY no luck on the octane tho lol. It runs and works fine psu fan seems a bit loud but regardless the o2 cosmetically is a hurtin lil boi. The metal case has some rust (especially the psu case and) the plastics are in HARD shape. The back piece that the hat (the top bit) is a jigsaw puzzle which I put back together and there are several huge cracks from top to bottom. I plan to just glue these and form a hat out of another hat with a plaster of paris mold lol. but enough about my hurtin plastics I knew they were busted before I got it. but the metal case needs a sand and a paint. I got the psu out and took the screws out and the top folds off easy peasy. The fan had a screw in the bottom and it seems to have to plastic clips up top. Is there anyway to get the fan out without breaking them? If I do decide to reuse the fan it kinda needs to not be broken after painting does anyone also know how to get all electronics connectors out of the metal case? I found the service manual but it only shows how to strip the o2 to the base and the metal frame with connectors inside. Now I know painting is pisses people off but If I showed you a picture of this badboi you agree with me lol. Itd be nice to paint it the original colour if I knew the colour code but I may just paint it white with black metal.

edit: Added a few pics it was clearly a shed boi and came with some nice cat treats inside and some cobwebs!

The plastic was never painted, but there's a few fan types out there. You have to drill the clips out.

At some point proper O2 plastics models will have to be created, for printing with a powder-type 3D printer, as the filament-type are no good fo this purpose!

For the clips there's rubber bushings that I was successful in using to secure the new fan in.

Measure the fan, I don't remember the size.

"flex cables?" no idea what you are talking about for the O2 PSU - the PSU is easily taken apart.

no worries just thought you might know, what I mean is the connectors which stay in the case when you take the modules out, that when you push them back in they connect to. I guess they arent really flex cables but ive never seen them naked so I just decided to call them flex cables

The connections between modules on the O2 are made by the frontplane, a thick PCB that is mounted in the chassis. You would need to take the skins off and open the chassis to remove it.
Do you have any reason to suspect it might be damaged?

I said I would be painting the skin as it is rusty so I doubt that pcb would enjoy getting paint on it.
