What's the replacement part number for the Octane lightbar incandescent bulbs?

What's the replacement part number for the Octane lightbar incandescent bulbs?
OK,
I'll get flak for this...I've have Octanes that all need lightbar repair.

I know the LED mod...problem is, I've yet to see an LED color I like, even trying to match the case's green color or use a white color doesn't totally sit right in my mind as correct (perhaps I'll change my mind someday).  I kind of expect the off-white yellow bulb color, so in the meantime I was wondering if anyone ever figured out the bulb part number so we could just replace the burnt out bulb with....another bulb.  Just trying to get the same look.  I agree that maybe with a blue Octane2 case a blue or white LED is kind of cool...but with the green cases, I actually like the off-white original look.

So, we're not talking about LEDs.

Does anyone know the correct part number for identical or better replacement bulbs for the first-gen Octane Lightbar?

Thanks!

In the US, at least, it seems incandescents have been all but phased out for the most generic home lighting applications. I am not optimistic that an incandescent lamp in that size still exists.

OK,
Oddly, I think I found them.  Without taking them out to verify dimensions these are actually standard bulbs (Assuming 5V, because people use 5V LEDs for the mods): Miniature Bulb G3.17 Base - 5 Volt

Picture from: Reviving Octane Light Bar.

Possibly:
https://www.bulbtown.com/7362_Miniature_...p/7362.htm
https://www.amazon.com/Miniature-Incande...B07B1C8HZC

I'll have to desolder the old ones, but they are a 2-pin bulb...still made..actually a standard, this only took me 20 minutes to find...why is it I never found this info on Nekochan or the like?  Odd, really.

So, there's the answer!  Good thing I need three sets (6 bulbs), because they are so cheap that shipping would hurt.

Also, why not white LEDS? Are you really after that oem dull incandescent look?

The short answer is, I want them original.

FWIW you can get LEDs that are similar color to incandescent bulbs. I wanted to replace the original look as much as possible as well and used an off-white led that I think pulls it off pretty well.

That being said my other Octane also has a dead light bar and I need to change the light on it so if you want I can take some measurements of the old burnt out bulbs for you to confirm before you order the replacements.

RE: What's the replacement part number for the Octane lightbar incandescent bulbs?
Bulb Height (top of bulb to bottom of base, no spacer, measured off board): ~7.35mm
Bulb Base Diameter (white section): ~2.5mm
Bulb Glass Diameter: ~2.32mm
Bulb Pin Diameter: ~0.50mm
Bulb Pin Spacing (outer edge to outer edge): ~1.70mm
Bulb Pin Gap (inner edge to inner edge): ~0.7mm

Board Pin Spacing (outer edge to outer edge): ~1.94mm
Bulb Height (top of bulb to board including spacer): ~8.55mm

Measured with Mitutoyo Calipers

So those G3.17 bulbs are too big

RE: What's the replacement part number for the Octane lightbar incandescent bulbs?
Anything under a G1.37 doesn't resemble the base bi-pin type we want. I've contacted a special light and lamp supply house near me. They do claim they've dealt with subminiature T type bulbs and smaller. So I'll follow up with them next week and desolder a bulb from one of my own Octanes (they are dead anyway) and bring it down for them to match.

SGI made sure to keep this a secret because these bulbs were supposed to be stamped with a part number, they made sure no part number would be available.

Hopefully I can find something or get a better lead on what I need.

RE: What's the replacement part number for the Octane lightbar incandescent bulbs?
I did more work on this today. I took a light bar, desoldered one of the bulbs and took both to our bulb supplier. They also only came up with the same bulb I did (of course I mentioned this). I left a bulb with them because the customer agent said he’d call around and try to find a bulb that actually matched those measurements out of their suppliers.

He did say that the base standard was correct but that when they are this small, they don’t follow a standard if they are under a 7714.

So, I mentioned to him I understand if there is a minimum order. I’d hope even 100 bulbs wouldn’t be much money.

They’ll likely call me within 5 days to follow-up.

Fingers crossed they find something, but yeah, the 7714 could fit on the PCB but it’s be very close to the power pins and the rubber guard would have to be discarded, I didn’t bring the white enclosure, but I do think it would fit.

However, I’m trying for perfect here.

I look forward to seeing the results, as I too want to keep mine original, as it has its original incandescent bulbs and they still work. (If I fire my Octane machine up 3 times a year, it's allot, so they should hopefully last!)

For every step we go forwards as human beings, we go two steps backwards in my opinion! I really don't like the direction our society's moving in! The light given off by incandescent bulbs is far warmer than the bluish-white light given off by LED's, and let's not talk about fluorescent lighting! Our society's becoming more synthetic by the day!
