I understand. My manager is also OCD so I recognized right away. Your points are valid. I already made a bin file and replaced the file ending in .iso on archive.org. I will perform a test burn of it.

Okay, I have created the disk image using the CD clone in Alcohol 120%.

Please reply here if it works for you. I tested a burn at slowest speed and it came up on an Indy.

I'll check it out, but I think I have a copy of that thanks to a nice beneficiary. I'll be adding these to the FTPs soon.

Wow,
That was really the ONE Irix missing from archive.org! I need to repair an old R3000 Indigo, and that's the version of Irix I needed!

Thanks for sharing,

I was able to burn this one with Alcohol and see it on my Indy! I should mention, you need to download all of the files (using the torrent for example) and burn the CCD file, you can't just burn the IMG like some of the other discs on archive.org.

CCD is like the metadata for the file. A TOC and list of tracks and instructions on how to burn.

Hmm, so I am able to load the install tools from this disc but I get the same error that I did with the other installer:

Code:
PANIC: IRIX Killed due to Bus Error
        at PC:0x8811390c ep:0xffffcd00

I might need to install on the 100MHz CPU and see if I can run the OS on the 250 MHz CPU.

I have two patch disks from 1998. Should I tar them up and add them to the archive.org page? When exactly do you get the kernel panic?

I can load sashARCS and fx no problem. The kernel panic message appears immediately after the installation tools loading bar (it might actually be in the middle of loading the tools, I don't generally watch the progress bar very closely).

RE: IRIX 5.3 for Indigo2 R4400 250MHz non-IMPACT
This is not a supported IRIX version for the Indy. There were many hardware specific version of IRIX 4.x and 5.x and this is one of them.

The Indy supports
Code:
Indy: Indy IRIX 5.1 (introduction), Indy IRIX 5.1+5.1.0.1, Indy IRIX
5.1.1, Indy IRIX 5.1.1+5.1.1.1, Indy IRIX 5.1.1+5.1.1.2, Indy Irix
  5.1.1+5.1.1.3, IRIX 5.2, IRIX 5.2 for Indy R4600PC & Challenge S,
  IRIX 5.2 for Indy R4600SC/XZ & Presenter, IRIX 5.3, IRIX 5.3 for
  175MHz R4400 Indy, IRIX 5.3 for Indy R4000, R4400, R4600 100-200MHz,
IRIX 5.3 with XFS, IRIX 5.3+5.3 TIRIX (except 175+ MHz), IRIX 5.3 for
R5000 Indy, IRIX 5.3 Indy R5000 with XFS, IRIX 6.2.
