Thanks!

One of these days, I think I will start on a model of the plastics of an IRIS Indigo to put in a scene next to the Indy plastics.

Very good work Irinikis.

The approach I would use to model the boards would be to model the obvious pieces using low geometry such as cylinders and boxes. or model the board as a rectangular box the thickness of the board itself, then extrude the faces where the IC chips are, use subdivisions to select an appropriate grid to match the elements on the board. or from the first option is simple add basic primitives to the board then apply the texture map.

Most impressive, would you share some exported format of the case, such as STL ? I'd love to 3d-print one for my desk (since my Indy is under and I can't enjoy the sight as much as I'd like to).

Looks very slimilar to my real Indy. I don't have that badge on the front grille, and I didn't see the inset for the light next to the power button. You're also missing the grid and power supply stop on the inside, but that's more of a pedantic detail. Could also be my Indy has a different version of the case from the one you're using as reference, if that's the case I'd be happy to provide reference pics.

This is pretty much an exact copy of my Indy R4000’s case. The hole for the power indicating LED is present, but you can’t see it in the image due to the way the light is falling on the model.

The only inaccuracy is that the indentation at the rear of the case on the top, to the left of the rear plastic tab is currently not present, as it’s inclusion was messing around with the texturing of the top of the case. (I may look at including this feature, if I give this model a second look.)

This earlier rendering of the model shows the light shining through the hole for the power LED. I have indicated the light direction with the arrow and circled where the light is falling on the surface on which the model is resting:

Oh, okay. Strange how I missed details in the rendering that seem so obvious on the real thing. I'm curious about the orange badge on the front grille, what is that about?

As always, you're art is freaking ameowzing.

This is what the badge is all about:
