It's the same type of picture I made last time some years ago. Good news, everything is ok. Definitevely need more software to run on it...

Now it's time check all these lovely machine without any special smoke effect...

Great looking collection!

I've just fired up my Tezro just to see if it still works, as it hasn't run in at least a month due to all of the gaming I've been doing!

And it does! (Thank God!)

My next project on this machine will entail building a complete model of a Cray 2 machine in Maya 6.5 (I'm busy collecting the required information for this build at the moment!)

It's been over two years since my Fuel last saw the light of day...

It's enjoying a fresh 6.5.30 networked install with a 300GB disk Smile

I'm glad to see that it started without a hitch after all that time!

RE: I Fired up one of my SGI's today!
Fired up my Challenge L today and was greeted with the dreaded "-12VDC Over Voltage" on the system controller Angry

The only place where -12VDC lives in these monsters is the IO4 VCAM so I dug up another VCAM from my infinite supply of spare parts. No dice.

Checked Fault LEDs on the IO4 and other than a brief flash at power-on none are lit.

Dammit. Could be the voltage monitoring itself that's at fault (a.k.a. Fuel environmental monitoring syndrome), or System Controller itself faulty. Going to have to go in with the volt meter ...

Also it seems the big blower is making some strange noises. Will have to see if it's possible to oil these things??

<<sigh>>

Well, it's sister the Onyx-IR-for-which-I-still-haven't-found-an-RM6 at least passes POST so I have some known-good parts to work with. I'd rather not though, because in my experience once you start to tear these things apart you create more problems than you solve. Ah well...

It has some boot issues but the second boot always seems to work. And it doesn't keep the time, but that's no surprise.

The system is basically brand new, I'm the first real user after it spent all those years as a spare on a shelf.
