IRIX emulation is here!
RE: IRIX emulation is here!
Has anyone tried the Indy emulation on an M1 Mac yet? they have a beta parallels already, or you can use rosetta2.

RE: IRIX emulation is here!
There's no JITs in the MAME drivers, last I checked. That means it should work fine.

RE: IRIX emulation is here!
Lady Serena Kitty, my old dream is to get an adapter (for my real Indy) to be able to connect a 4gb memory card instead of the 1gb hard drive.

I intend to continue with several tests on the entire Indy system, to help the community to improve the use of this workstation, but the lack of space on the HD makes this impossible.
Perhaps a donation of a similar adapter for SCSI 2 for memory card, due to the difficulty of finding something similar here in Brazil, would help a lot!

Thanks!

RE: IRIX emulation is here!
One of my researches:
When I had installed IRIX 5.3 on my Indy XL8, I was able to get the entire graphics system to stay at 24bits, changing a single line in a file.

But when I installed IRIX 6.5.22 (which is unsuitable for my system), I ended up not saving the modification made, and I don't have a note of it.

I tried to make a similar modification in IRIX 6.5.22, but I was not successful.

I am about to install the most suitable S.O. for my system (IRIX 6.2), and keep trying to do this magic.

My old post talking about exactly this:

I use a SCSI2SD board with a 64GB SD card in my Indy.  It is much faster than a hard drive (5.5MB/s vs hard drive's 1.0MB/s) and also quieter.  It also produces less heat, so if heat is an issue for your Indy, the SCSI2SD board is a good option.

RE: IRIX emulation is here!
well with the help of the neo cities guide I got it running. pretty slow though lol. Now the question is how do I get fsn going. I got a copy of fsn in binary so I can make install as its in binary question is how do I get it into the guest lmao this is a far cry from vmware drag and drop haha cool though.

Tongue Got it working and fsn does indeed work.

She’s pretty slow but it works great I assumed it wouldn’t work because mame was set up for the Indy not the octane.

it’s a Unix system I KNOW THIS

Lol
