AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
RE: AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
Good morning all,
I come back after a few months due to confinement and I am still with the same problem of not being able to make Flame work.
Can someone help me?
I reinstalled IRIX several times, I uninstalled and reinstalled Flame and its components, I followed what uunix, that is to say:
su
cd /usr/discreet/sw
./sw_stop
./sw_config (does not work if I don't put a # in front of the line of my license:

####################
#Stone & Wire 2008 #
####################

#FEATURE wire_all_r_2008 discreet_l 2008.999 1-Jan-0 0 \
F967ADB98BCEC45A9BD7 HOSTID = 1003297 ck = 104
FEATURE stone_all_r_2008 discreet_l 2008.999 1-Jan-0 0 \
01DAC43D4F2523180207 HOSTID = 1003297 ck = 242
FEATURE softwareraid_all_r_2008 discreet_l 2008.999 1-Jan-0 0 \
8B5174B1D918686EFD2A HOSTID = 1003297 ck = 25
FEATURE standardfs_all_r_2008 discreet_l 2008 1-Jan-0 0 \
6CBE8B80FE87303DC4ED HOSTID = 1003297 ck = 116

Now i can used sw_config
then add / create drive (error when saving)

then add / keep (initializes the disk with fx and backup works)

save and quit

I am modifying my license by removing the #
then I can launch:

./sw_start
[Image: EiRXmmm.jpg]
./sw_mount all

Of course when I launch flame, the interface appears but the error in initializing the Stonefs volume is present.

The Wiretape error is continuous, I took a screenshot of the CFg file and the log file.

I',m home at the moment, but let me think about this. I'm sure I have certain licenses that I move to enable sw_config and after, I have to move them back. If I haven't got back back by Tuesday give me a kick up the butt!

RE: AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
I tested the command:
sw_set_license
Here is the result when I launch Flame or Flame -v
The volume is not recognized.

... please check your stonewire2008_filesystem_networking_guide.pdf in the documents folder on your workstation (side 55):

NOTE: Only Linux workstations can directly mount standard filesystem volumes for media storage. An IRIX workstation must use Wire to connect to a standard filesystem, going through the Linux workstation that mounted that filesystem: you cannot configure a standard filesystem volume for Effects or Editing on an IRIX workstation.

... what about answering my message from April 15th? Thank's.

RE: AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
I have upgraded from Flame 9.5.14 to 2008 SP6. Runs fine so far, but sw_config won't work at all. "Segmentation fault". I had to create a framestore with the old Flame to work with 2008 SP6. sw_config.log does not help, even wirh swr_set_debug 2. No error is logged in this file. I'm rather clueless. I read all the important documentation and did a clean 6.5.28 installation strictly according to the Autodesk guide.
Could it be that it happens because I created a swap partition of 8192 megabytes instead of 256 mb, that the installation guide recommended?

After a lot of work I managed to have everything set up and working fine. Here's Flame in all its splendour. On a mission to remember it (used this 20 years ago) and to compare it to a modern nuke : P Will try to implement some of the modern workflow on this thing...

RE: AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
i managed the libInventor.so.3 problem by installing it from the Overlays 3 CD.

libz is from zLib, a well known compression library. Get it from either the freeware CDs, Nekoware, SGUG RSE or compile it yourself. Should compile in one go.

EDIT: Typo s/it in either/it from either/y

Hello everyone. I know it's an old thread, but I'm also with the zlib problem. I installed it from nekoware, but the problem persists. Where am I going wrong? Should I move installed files somewhere?
