RE: AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
just a guess, but try to copy libinventor into /usr/lib64

first look to see if it exists

Code:
ls /usr/lib64/libInventor.so.3

if not copy it over (as root)

Code:
cp /usr/lib32/libInventor.so.3 /usr/lib64

then do

Code:
ldd bin/flame_IRIX_6.5_64

That's not going to work. Files under /usr/lib32 are N32 ABI binaries, files under /usr/lib64 are 64bit ABI. You cannot mix ABIs in a single binary. So a 64 bit ABI Flame executable will not load an N32 libInventor.so even if you place it in /usr/lib64. And if an N32 binary looks for it's .so files in /usr/lib64 there's something wrong as well.

Merci pour les informations, mais quelle est la solution.
Je peux installer une nouvelle version de la flamme. Peut-être ai-je commis une erreur avec l'option d'installation de la flamme.

You'll need to install the 64-bit version of libInventor, which should be on your IRIX installation media.  It's not part of Flame.  Unfortunately, I don't have an IRIX machine up and running at the moment and I'm a little short on time, so I can't provide detailed instructions.  Hopefully another poster can provide more info on where to find the right library and how to install it, without you having to re-install the whole operating system, now that we know what's missing.

If all else fails, try copying /usr/lib64/libInventor.so.3 from your friend's machine to yours.

RE: AUTODESK FLAME 2008 SERVICE PACK 6
Following up on what I wrote the other day:

It is inventor_eoe.sw64.lib that needs to be installed from the IRIX installation CDs.  You'll likely need both the base package (which I think is on the "Foundation 2" CD), and the appropriate overlay CD for whatever version of IRIX you're running (probably 6.5.30 but I haven't followed the thread that closely).  Then you can use "swmgr" (GUI) or "inst" (command line) to install just the missing pieces.

If you need more detailed instructions on how to use those tools, let us know.

Wacom XD-1212-R here, but I haven't used it with Flame yet. It should work though, but you better have a large desk because that thing takes up a lot of space. This is a serial device, not USB.

When I'm done wiring the place I will return to the Discreet system. I also have the correct, Discreet flavored ADA8824 audio breakout now and some Blackmagic SDI <-> HDMI and SDI <-> Thunderbolt converters. Will still need to get a HD-SDI monitor, or at least a decent screen. Hopefully I will be able to avoid a real (tape) HD-SDI video recorder....

The blackmagic SDI-converter works great with flame using live input, so that can replace an SDI-VTR. I'm currently looking for a serial Wacom, so XD-1212-R is a good hint :-)

UPDATE: I got the "GD-0608-R" working perfectly in Flame using the build-in dlwacom driver over "init.cfg"

the only progress I got is when I select the 36gig drive as Partition 0 from sw_config, and "keep" filesystem instead of "Create" filesystem.  The drive setting can then be saved without error messages.  But when I start Flame, it errors out and says there is no VOL or Filesystem and cannot compute disk space, and only allows you to exit the application.

There is a flame / smoke start up option that initializes the stoneFS, can't recall it off the top of my head. Worth a shot?

flame -v

I have my doubts though.
Hi all,
Its been more than a year with this particular problem to be solved so I wondered if anyone had seen any success with creating new Stones on external disk arrays?
I've been stuck on old 73Gb drives still (which were part of the original Stone array) but these are dropping like flies due to age and usage.
I have been using fx to reformat, re-partition, re-label these new 300Gb drives but I still cannot get past saving the configuration in sw_config.
Has anyone discovered a way of overcoming this using fx?
Thanks
