error installation IRIX on TEZRO
can anyone help me?
I wanted to put a new drive on my tezro and install IRIX.
I took pictures of each step.

My cdrom cdrom (2,0,7)
My dksc disk (0,1,0)
I have booted several times on the CD tools to use the fx menu.
I tried the commands:
boot -f cdrom (2,0,8) sash64 cdrom (2,0,7) stand / fx.64 --x

but also
boot -f dksc (2,0,8) sash64 cdrom (2,0,7) stand / fx.64 --x
[Image: rWoU5nq.jpg]
I then chose "r" to repartition the hard drive by choosing the "ro" menu, then xfs and yes.
I went back typing ..
I chose "l" for label then "sy"
I returned to the maintenance menu by choosing "exi".

To launch the installation of IRIX, I clicked on the icon miniroot and at the end of the loading I had the error message that mentions that it can not find the disk dksc (0,1,1 ). I redid at least 10 times the boot, distribution and launch of the miniroot.

I still have the same error message.

Can someone help me?

Here are the versions of IRIX that I used to try to install IRIX.

I do not know if you saw the picture after the miniroot.
There is an error on the control of my hard drive.
With hinv: dksc (0,1,0) and after starting the miniroot, the system looks for the hard disk dksc (0,1,1).
This is where the problem lies.
Does anyone know of this problem and who can help me?

Not on this forum, but somewhere else, e.g. imgur or your own website.

Are you 100% sure that the IRIX version you have there is 6.5.30?

My machine showed the same symptoms, when I tried to install a version of IRIX which was too old.

RE: error installation IRIX on TEZRO
Are you sure that that’s not 6.5.3, as 6.5.30 was released on August 16th 2006?

As far as I know, 6.5.22 is the oldest version that will work on a Tezro.

Yeah, you don't have .30 - you have a much earlier version.

RE: error installation IRIX on TEZRO
Well, that suggests the issue to be caused by a hardware issue of some kind. I'm afraid it's really hard to diagnose, but it looks like the drive isn't taking the installation and thus it's getting corrupted. Either that, or the kernel, stored in /unix, isn't being properly written.

RE: error installation IRIX on TEZRO
Try to wipe the drive from fx: 'exercise' -> 'sequential' -> 'write-only', accept default for range (0 ... end).

Then apply a new disk label of course.

Wouldn't be the first time I see the miniroot trip over the leftovers of a destroyed XFS. By wiping the disk you force creation of a new FS.

As a side effect, this verifies the integrity of your disk before you spend an evening installing IRIX on a disk with bad sectors, wondering what the @#$%%^& is going wrong.

PS: congrats on the quad 1GHz Tezro  Biggrin

Hi jan-jaap,
I launched the command "exe", I had to choose "wri-o" then the default options.
However, I have already used this type of command just before with the command "a"uto.
it took me 16:00 with a 72GB HDD and here it is a 146GB disk.
Here are some pictures taken when I ordered the "a" auto from the fx menu run on HDD1 and HDD2.
The station works with two hard drives dedicated to Flame.
These are 36gb disks and the irix + Flame system drives 3 disk arrays (stonewire).

I would like just system IRIX on new HDD for used softimage 3D and XSI.
on the last picture Flame error because i did not install the dongle.
The discs work very well with Flame. There is no reason why I can not install irix on another hard drive.
I tried on two different discs, 1 72GB 15K and 1 146GB 10K.
The problem remains the same.
I'll see if the exercise control changes anything.
