RE: error installation IRIX on TEZRO
The exercise command is complete.
Then I used the command "l" abel, then "sy" nc.
I left fx, in the maintenance menu, I clicked on the icon install to start the miniroot.
The miniroot was loaded then at the end, the screen became black and the blue led turned into orange led.
I thought the system would restart after a few minutes. I waited 20 minutes, then I forced the stop. I even tried the key combination:
alt + ctrl + shift + / (num) + F12, nothing happened.
Once the system rebooted, I clicked on the icon install to restart the miniroot, which showed me a message and returned to the maintenance menu. I restarted the miniroot again and again I had the black screen at the end of loading.
I had to force my tezro stop again.
If anyone has an idea that could allow me to install the system without problem, I'm interested.

Does your machine have a DCD fitted?

If so, use one of the DCD outputs to connect your monitor.

When the Tezro loads the miniroot, it switches from the digital output that it outputted in the PROM to an analog output, ounce IRIX is loaded, it then switches back to a digital output. (not all monitors are compatible with the analog output that it outputs.) This is a very strange quirk that the Tezro has. (This is on the primary output of the graphics card.)

However, it always outputs a digital output on the DCD. Use DCD output: 1, as it usually defaults to a dual-channel output when IRIX is installed. Then log into IRIX and change it to a single display output and from then on it displays a single display output on either of the DCD outputs.

If your machine doesn't have a DCD, then you can use a DVI to VGA adapter to link the machine to your monitor's VGA input. (This allows the monitor to display the analog output that it outputs when the miniroot loads.)

RE: error installation IRIX on TEZRO
Hi Irinikus,
My tezro not have DCD, but i have try with adaptater DVI to VGA and the miniroot run correctly.
I can see the menu inst of miniroot.
Thank you very much for your conseil.
Now I have to fight with 132 conflicts.

I chose the 4CDs that are recommended on the site of futurtech.
Installation Tools (Tools overlay 1/3 6.5.30)
Foundation 1
Foundation 2
Applications

After indication from.
i would like used commande in this page :
http://www.futuretech.blinkenlights.nl/6.5inst.html

I have try commande in menu inst
keep *
install standard
install prereqs

But in 6.5.30, just "install standard" is recognized.
My Tezro has several installed cards that generate conflicts when installing IRIX.

RE: error installation IRIX on TEZRO
I'm glad I could help.

Take a look at my post on a “complete conflict free IRIX 6.5.30 install”.

It’s on the last page of the IRIX/Software forum.

Here's the link:
http://forums.irix.cc/thread-92.html

These are the disks you'll need:

- Installation tools / Overlay 1
- Overlay 2
- Overlay 3
- 6.5 Foundation 1
- 6.5 Foundation 2
- Development Foundation
- Development Libraries
- NFS3 may99
- Applications

Put yourself on a feature stream.

Remember to let "inst" read the "CDROM/dist/unbundled/" folder on overlay 2. (This is not done automatically)

These are the commands youll have to issue once all of the disks are read:

- keep *
- install standard
- keep java2_plugin.sw32.mozilla_freeware
- keep inventor_dev.sw.base
- keep inventor_dev.sw.lib
- install eoe.sw.fonttools
- install eoe.sw.uucp
- install eoe.sw.xlv
- install eoe.sw.spell
- install ftn_eoe
- install inventor_eoe.sw64
- install ifl_eoe.sw64
- install dmedia_eoe.sw64
- install prereqs
- keep incompleteoverlays
- rem java_dev*
- go

RE: error installation IRIX on TEZRO
I finished installing IRIX with the CDs, as you indicated.
- Installation tools / Overlay 1
- Overlay 2
- Overlay 3
- 6.5 Foundation 1
- 6.5 Foundation 2
- Development Foundation
- Development Libraries
- NFS3 may99
- Applications

I did not use the keep * command because I just read your message.

As I said, I had a lot of conflicts to solve and here is the result.

RE: error installation IRIX on TEZRO
I unfortunately don't know how to get the normal IRIX interface icon here. (one of the conflicts you had was probably this interface.)

If you follow the process I've listed above and below, IRIX will install perfectly.

These are the disks you'll need:

- Installation tools / Overlay 1
- Overlay 2
- Overlay 3
- 6.5 Foundation 1
- 6.5 Foundation 2
- Development Foundation
- Development Libraries
- NFS3 may99
- Applications

Put yourself on a feature stream.

Remember to let "inst" read the "CDROM/dist/unbundled/" folder on overlay 2. (This is not done automatically)

These are the commands youll have to issue once all of the disks are read:

- keep *
- install standard
- keep java2_plugin.sw32.mozilla_freeware
- keep inventor_dev.sw.base
- keep inventor_dev.sw.lib
- install eoe.sw.fonttools
- install eoe.sw.uucp
- install eoe.sw.xlv
- install eoe.sw.spell
- install ftn_eoe
- install inventor_eoe.sw64
- install ifl_eoe.sw64
- install dmedia_eoe.sw64
- install prereqs
- keep incompleteoverlays
- rem java_dev*
- go

I know it's a pain, but start over by creating a new file system and ensure that the "unbundled" folder on overlay 2 is read (overlay 2 has to be read twice)

Once all of the disks are read, type in the list of commands given.(and you'll have no conflicts)

RE: error installation IRIX on TEZRO
I just installed IRIX again taking into account the information you mentioned.
I ironed the CDs you mentioned and I entered the options.
I made a picture where we see that "install prereqs" no matches and rem java_dev * also.
When I launched "go", I had conflicts, I made a picture.
Once the CDs were installed, I restarted my TEZRO and I still did not have the IRIX interface.
I started in "root" and in a console, I looked at chkconfig service.

It seems to me that I have a lot less than my onyx4.

Not knowing where my problem comes from, does anyone know why IRIX I just installed twice, does not have its interface?

RE: error installation IRIX on TEZRO
Are you using the correct applications cd?

The conflicts you have there seem to be the ones you get when the applications cd isn’t read or isn’t read properly.

Did you read from: CDROM/dist/dist6.5 on the NFS3 disk or the applications cd?

This path needs to be read from on one of these two disks, and 6.5.30 doesn’t give you this option automatically if I remember correctly?
