Indigo 6.5 install - won't boot?

RE: Indigo 6.5 install - won't boot?
Ok- I got the Indigo to boot. I think it was a rookie mistake.

When in INST before I didn't do a keep *, install standard, install prereqs, go

I just did a go.

I booted back into INST via the "install software from remote directory" in PROM.

I opened a sh and saw that there was a /unix in /realroot/root - so it was there.

Exited SH, then back in INST I opened foundations/dist and overlay22/disk, keep *, install standard, install prereqs, go.

it installed somethings, did the elf thing and rebooted and this time it came up.

now:

What is the username/password to get me into the system????

Congrats!

That would be root with no password I think. You can set a new password on first boot, or create new users.

OK I got in. However there is nothing installed except a console app. Nothing else.

Where are all the standard apps and things you would get with a 6.5 install? I feel like i'm still missing some installation step.

You can just go to software manager and start inserting the original discs one by one and seeing what you want to install from each one, must have missed it the first time around for some reason.

You mean inst?

Also I have no CDROM - it's all net install...

ftp the .tar/.gz files/CD's onto your system (images/iso's wont be helpful to you), unzip/untar into a dir (lets for example say /tmp/6.5.22m), then run swmgr i.e.

swmgr -f /tmp/6.5.22m

Are there any other accounts besides root to log in to? Might try one just to see if it's the same
