How can i write the Foundation cDs on the CDs?


I have been recording it with the ISO9660 format but it does not read it in my SGI, I do not know if the INST (File System) format can be recorded in a program, I am installing the IRIX 6.5.22 and I need the CD Foundation 1 to work and 2. Who can help me

I'm fairly sure I just used ImgBurn on a Windows PC to burn the CD images I got (WinWorld's download library I think, or archive.org). It selected the options automatically and they worked on my Indy no problem.

CdBurnerXP is another good one, set it to session-at-once and it usually does the job for any kind of image file.

i don´t know if they Works for the installation of IRIX 6.5.22

Yes, the foundation disks are the same for all versions of IRIX 6.5, it's the overlays that change between versions.

If the disks aren't readable on your SGI then they're not being written properly on your PC. The IRIX CDs use the EFS file system, so you need a tool on Windows that can burn the raw images without touching the content in any way (such as ImgBurn). The resulting disk should not be readable on a PC (at least under Windows), but should work fine under IRIX.

This is why I recommend using network installs. Burning EFS CDs is difficult to do properly.

Depends if you have the tools to do it. My approach was to burn the CDs using ImgBurn, then use my Indigo2 to read them and copy the contents into the relevant shares in Dina. That worked nicely and then future network installs from Dina work great!
