SOLVED -LED on Tezro
So ever since I replaced the Snaphat and Dallas timekeeper on my Tezro, the LED doesn't throb anymore on boot up or stay lit when the machine is on. Anyone know how to turn it back on? Can't have it not looking cool and all... Thanks!

I’m not 100% sure about this but when you say LED I’m assuming you mean the giant logo on the front right?

I’m assuming a deskside Tezro.

I’m wondering if that’s actually related to the L1 screen.

Is your front L1 LCD lit up? It maybe related to the “display” command in the L1 documentation.

Its claims that having the display on (L1 display) and powered up may also light the front plastic logo?

The LEDS command doesn’t really say anything about default settings, only temporary override by software to signal programmatic failure or success of a long-running operation (still a cool idea). And it only says Fuel, but I guess go ahead and try it to see if it is in fact implemented for Tezro.

Yes it is the front logo LED. Will see what I can try as the doc you sent really does not go into much details on commands available. I believe that I did try in L1 "hlp LED" with nothing coming back. I will also pull the LED and test it to see if it hasn't burned out, which would be rare as they should be rated for 50,000 hours or more of burntime.

Is this the machine that got the new IP module? Was the IP changed before or after the Dallas replacement?
It may be necessary to do the POD dance and then do a flash -v -o and see if that works.
If not I have some known good new Dallas chips that I duplicated from an existing one. I could send you one for testing if you need.

RE: LED on Tezro
I have just tested the L1 commands on the deskside tezro:

display power on -> turns on the little green LED below the LCD
display attention on -> does nothing while "powered down". when powered up, this lights up the amber led next to the cube logo.
display failure on -> same as "attention", amber led, but only when powered up.

I can't find a command for the red LED or the illumination of the large sgi cube.

the "leds" command shows CPU status, not "Light Emitting Diodes".

hmmm, Yeah the RGB stuff was labelled as fuel...so I wasn't going to think it worked...but the display command didn't light the cube logo, ha? Hmmm, I'm starting to agree with the recommendation to restore default values in L1 as a possible fix.

RE: LED on Tezro
So do this?

At the system's L1 prompt before powering the computer on, enter: debug 0x08. This will set the system to boot into Power-On Diagnostics (POD).
Power the system on, either via the front panel or from the L1 prompt with pwr u.
Once the system has booted to the POD> prompt, enter the command go cac to enter CAChed mode.
Type clearalllogs to clear the system's logged configuration state, including errors.
Type resetalllogs initalllogs to bring the logged configuration state back to the default.
Type flush to flush/empty the system buffers.
Return to the L1 prompt (CTRL-T) and enter debug 0x00 to reset the debug switches to their default state.
Enter reset at the L1 prompt to reset the system.
See how the boot sequence goes. Hopefully things will work better after this process.

display not much there....

Seems that the LED harness had come undone and was not connected... ugh.
