Hey guys,

For those who remember me, I'm sum][one from Nekochan, and I now live in Toronto (used to be in Italy, then UK).

I'm planning some changes in my life and therefore I'm considering selling some more of my beloved SGIs and give them a new home, including my favourite, The Onyx2 Deskside.

So, for sale here is my Onyx2 Deskside, in perfect condition and fully functional.

As I'm trying to understand the feasibility of this I'd prefer if you could contact me if you are really interested.
I would imagine my asking price is in the CAD$4,900/6.900 ballpark, o.n.o and I'll adjust if needed.


As I've relocated here early last year, the machine is based in Toronto at the moment and I'd much prefer to sell it in person rather than shipping it.
I would be willing to drive within the GTA (or reasonably close outside of it) and deliver as well, or have you collect in person.
I would just wipe some sensitive data but I could leave various software and IRIX installed, or remove the Disks altogether and provide with Empty replacement (I have tons of spare HDDs and sleds).

From these photos (and the HINV below) you'll see a 8 Channels Graphics board, but that has been swapped soon after with a 2 channels InfinteReality2.
The rest of the configuration is pretty much the same.
I can power the beast on and send an updated HINV if you are really interest in buying it.

This beauty has literally travelled half the planet by "personal drivers" and "visited" several countries

Brought by hand from my original seller, he personally drove this beauty on his car to my doorstep from Germany to Italy (photos from my mimgfx gallery).

I then drove it in a van (with the rest of my collection) from Italy to London, UK.

Then it travelled the ocean when I moved to Toronto last year...

.. I'm hoping it'll find a new home soon, or it'll have to stick with me and likely travel again for some thousand miles elsewhere at some point.

Aha! you know, one of the reasons I'm thinking of selling it is because there might be a chance I'll move to the West Coast in a few months and a trip to Seattle could be a good excuse .

When I moved to Toronto I had sold half of my collection back in the UK, and the Octane and O2 I kept (amongst others) got damaged during the move (unsurprisingly given the shit job they did at packing my stuff).

Luckily I have so much SGI spare parts I could put them back to work and like nothing happened.
Thing is, I'm not sure I want this baby to endure another trip like that and risk the same outcome (although I had this packed inside a crate and wood box for the relocation)....

If I'm not selling it until then and I'll move to the West Coast l'll definitely load it on my Truck if I'll be driving it from Toronto, getting this beauty yet another nice road trip around the world.
