RE: modern sync on green monitors that can be reccomended
When I purchased my first own workstation, I had to buy a monitor just to get by and I paid I shit you not, about 10 dollars fo a used Samsung S19C150F. It's pretty spartan and the colour accuracy is just plain terrible, but it has served me really well over the last decade to set up a lot of servers and when I made my own DA-15 to VGA adapter I got the great surprise that comes with sync-on-green.
Would I buy another one? Absolutely, as long as it doesn't have a slight screen burn in as mine, but keep in mind that mine was an ex-office retired one. Still the most bang for the buck I got from a electronic device in a long time, just after a laptop that I got for my 18th birthday.
