The long-awaited moment is ready. The mouse pads are ready, but the storefront still is WIP.

Small Size:

Middle Size:

Largest:

What's next?

I need to get the store front set up. Will do so quite soon, hopefully. I do have a UK/EU distributor, and might have a CA one. We will sell to other countries as well, but those outside of US, Canada, UK/EU will need to arrange shipping with me on a case-by-case basis; as I am setting this up to minimize customs duties and such.

Where will my mouse mat/pad ship from?

If inside the US, I will be responsible for fulfillment. I have secured a "warehouse" in VA (thanks to a generous friend in Virginia Beach) to store up to 300 of each unit until all are shipped out.

If in Canada, from Canada in all likelihood.

If in UK/EU, from the UK. We will do our best to minimize customs duties.

Order cutoffs

In order to minimize shipping delays, not take advantage of donors/sponsors etc. we will be limiting preorders regionally.

For the US, it's 300 per size. if one of the smaller sizes doesn't hit a threshold of at least 100, I will roll the others into the next largest size or process refunds.

For the UK/EU, it's 150 per size. We may do reprints in the future, but this will be at our discretion.

Canada, it has not been decided as of this moment. I will update the thread.

Pre-Order Period

100 days from opening the store. I will send out a mass email, signal boost via various vintage computer groups, reddit, etc.

When can I expect shipment of my order?

I will inform users of shipment times and such. If at all possible I will try to fulfill orders in a "first in, first out" basis, but this is not guaranteed. For the US, I will probably get shipping done within 2-3 weeks gods willing. This is a logistical challenge for me, but I need to try and make sure it's done right.

Can I pick up orders from Raion, or the UK/EU distributor?

If you live within driving distance, I will deliver it or meet you, yes. I cannot let you in the warehouse for security reasons, though.

If you're in the UK/EU that's a different story.

I want to resell these for you on eBay/etsy/at VCF etc

I can work something out for this, but you'll need to do a minimum order to make it worth it for our designer, especially if you want priority access. Probably at least 30/size you want.

How will revenue/profits be handled?

80% of profits will go into funding further bounties, site upgrades/maintenance.

20% will go to whomever is doing labor in whatever zone (e.g. the US I will get 20%, Canada/UK it will be whomever handles those orders).

Profit will ONLY be decided after we have a projection of materials/shipping costs.

US Sales are live here:

https://irixnet-sales.square.site

There will be a hundred day period (plus a few days since this is a soft launch) for US sales.

Canada, UK/EU sales will follow in 30-45 days at most. I have to work out all of the logistical issues regarding shipping so I don't have to contact people and ask for more money if something happens regarding shipping calculations. You want these things to pass through customs as little as possible.

For those in other parts of the world such as Australia, Asia or South America you can contact me directly and we will work out sales in a case by case basis.

Thank you everyone who has purchased thus far. I've confirmed Dodoid is gonna help fulfill Canadian orders (at least he expressed that he could definitely do it since it was just a batch fulfillment for Canada).

I just need to sit down with him and decide on shipping costs and we can open up that shipping zone. I will be reaching out to those of you in other countries who expressed interest at one point or another and we'll talk about how to get you one.

Looks awesome! You can count me in for a medium when they are avaliable for UK (and maybe a large) Smile

Few questions:

What material is it?
How thick is the lining around it? Looks quite thick?
Are there going to be other designs? If so which ones are on the cards?
Is the image avaliable seperately? Might make a nice backdrop/wallpaper Wink

Good work

Ask CB_HK for the image, he has the highest res one IIRC.

It's a poly fabric mouse pad about 3mm thick. The edge sticks up about a half mm.

Other designs in the future maybe -- all contingent on the success of this. We gotta sell enough to make it worth the hassle of ordering from Hong Kong a large enough order.

I have some other system-specific designs, but also some original designs. Check in Polling Center for some ideas we had.

For outside orders to minimize customs, you should try DDP shipments included on the price.

RE: Mouse Pad Group Buy is ON!
DDP? Sorry not familiar with European terminology if that's what that means.

Thus far we have sold 37 mouse pads of various sizes. We're off to a good start but we need to sell many more in the US to make this worth it. I'll reiterate, the main things holding back UK/EU sales are not things that people can solve at the moment but basically require me to set up calculated shipping for that region. Once I have that all set up, I'll have that region set up.

One of the issues with splitting UK and EU shipments is that our supplier has a minimum order cost. If it's under a certain amount I get charged significantly more and that basically makes it impossible to sell these at a profit. I'm sorry but I can't take a loss on this, and I think that everyone here understands that. There's thankfully just enough Canadian members here that if each one of them buys a few mouse pads we can get over that minimum order hump, I just can't say the same for the UK. So I have to merge the two regions.

For everybody else I will do my best to make sure that I can minimize the cost to you but it's just going to be expensive no matter how we put it. Inflation is hitting us hard here in the United States so I have only but so much power to counteract it
