Hi,

some decades ago ;-) I worked with AVS on an Onyx RE2 at NTT Yokosuka R&D Center, Japan.
I used it for visualization of 3D reconstructed medical volume data.
A scenery viewing tool I developed used the AVS Geometry Library libgeom.

I'm looking for that library file in order to compile, link and run the software on my Octane2/Irix 6.5.
I do not need the entire AVS system, this simple file for linking would be gorgeous!

Is there anybody out there who knows something about AVS on IRIX and perhaps knows how to get that library?

Hi,
short addendum: I already asked SGI Depot's Ian "Hi there!" Mapleson about that - oh yes, he knows AVS - a company he worked for some centuries ago used that tool - but unfortunately he can't help in this special case. So, he recommended to post my question here.
[INFO] First step was to contact AVS directly - no response!

I would also like to try AVS again - I used it just for a week at Manchester University during a Visualisation course (as I recall they had SGIs in the Chemistry Dept). It seemed so cool but it was too expensive for my research group at another university. I suppose that's why I have found almost no mention of it so far.
