Octane2 power supplies for weblacky
So I read an old post by weblacky (?) saying he wanted old power supplies, to try to learn how to fix them. I dunno how serious he was, but I have three (3) Octane2 Cherokee 747 powsups that I just don't trust, they were in a damp basement for too long, some capacitors must have gone bad.
The only tricky part is, whether he is still around, whether he wants them, and who pays for shipping. As you know, they're heavy.

RE: Octane2 power supplies for weblacky
Yo,
I’m still going through my Indy PSU stock and I’ve not completed my Tezro PSU rebuilds yet…so I’m behind. I’ve been doing other (non-SGI) projects lately due to the good weather. SGI stuff is good for rainy days (which we have plenty of here in Seattle).
I may have an interest in these PSUs. Can you PM me and I’ll give you an email address to send me pics. As you’ve mentioned, since these PSUs are heavy and do not fit any any standardized USPS box, they are very expensive to ship and so I need to buy good examples that can be resold or at least aren’t riddled with rust and the like. But given they are the higher wattage versions, you have my interest.
Octane is the NEXT PSU after I finish with Tezro because I already have my Tezro Parts’s and my main goal in all of this was to fix my sick Tezros from the start.
Please PM me and we’ll get it settled. Thanks for reaching out. We really do need PSU experience and inventory if these machines are going to survive moving forwards.
UPDATE: I've sent you a PM directly with my email in it, please send me pics of the PSUs in question and we can the ball rolling.
