Setting up My Onyx2

RE: Setting up My Onyx2
@Weblacky Thanks for the info! Smile

@jwhat I tried everything! Resetting, flashing, deleting and flashing again, and nothing worked!

When I deleted the EEPROM image, I did get the message that it was successfully deleted.

Could you please share what your system shows when you do an ./ireeprom -i

Mine seems to be completely blank, when you compare all of the fields!!!

Your output showed that before on your previous screenshots. That's why I suggested you solder a tiny wire to your chip's VCC and check the voltage because I don't know how the chip can be "blank" (that I'd believe easily) but a chip that doesn't have enough power or cannot actually be accessed might come back with all...nothings?  I'd check that your chip is getting real voltage/power because it could be some kind of localized voltage drop?

Just solder a thin wire to the chip's VCC (when you find out what chip it is), place the board back into the system and use a multimeter to check from that wire to chassis ground on DC Volts.

according to datasheet, that's an AT29LV040

So I stand corrected and the Atmel is the chip you are looking for.

RE: Setting up My Onyx2
Thanks for all the inputs!

I don’t currently have the necessary resources available at my home to my to test the system as @Weblacky suggested, although it’s definitely the right path to follow. There are two voltage regulators present on the module, of which one could have failed.

For now I’ll wait for the new GE16! If it doesn’t work, that would rule out a voltage regulator failure, and possibly point to something bigger, such as a mid-plane issue.

My replacement GE16-4 arrived today, but it will be a while until I'll be able to test it in the machine! (Hopefully it solves the little problem I'm having!)
