I ruled out the hardware as well, it's def software, really frustrating lol

Having recently been running the O2 for Wacom art, I decided to revisit this dropping frames and unstable video capture.

The memory configuration was it!  I have a real mismatch of RAM.  I had 256GB of Kingston and 512GB of Datacom. Recording would immediately glitch out if any of the Datacoms were installed but not if only the Kingston was.  YMMV.
