I think that O2 machines need at least IRIX 6.3

Yup. It's meant for my PI (see 1st post "Yeah, finally I got a "recent" SGI (to accompany my 4D/35) ") - at least one top-model in the household :-P

Well I would say either one - 5200 or 10k - is just another league compared to 180 and its pitiful cache. if big he means Onyx, then def take the Onyx Smile of course Octane/Tezro/Origin350 take.

There aren't any O2's left (i.e. some lucky b*$tard got my bargain O2's!) and he said "Desktop"! For non-SGI-believers that's 99.9% something which fits under a monitor. I fear it'll be an Indy or a low-end Indigo2 :-/
In your eyes, are there any <E>:Indy:</E> , <E>:Indigo2:</E> or <E>:Indigo2_IMP:</E> being a proper $100 compensation?

I wouldn't take an Indy, I'd have just about any > Impact Indigo 2 if it's in good condition.

Re: O2 R5k overclock
If you could get your hands on an Indigo2 Impact, that's one hell of a compensation for $100!!!

Don't waste your time on an Indy, they're just tooo slow! (Cool little machines if they're in good condition though!)

Thanks y'all! But crossing fingers didn't help... I saw this one coming... a battered old Visual Workstation 230. No cards of course :-/ Meh...
So my last good-will offer will be to keep one of the Crawl-O2's for 40€ and send back the rest - at least one R5k family member for my collection.

40Euro isnt bad I guess, perhaps you can score a better cpu in the future at the very least

He declined... I have enough, I give up. Everything's packed and will go back.
Maybe one fine day I'll find a reasonable O2 for a reasonable price.

Thanks for helping!
