Inferno/Fire on Tezro...
so someone said they hacked Flame to run on an o2, so makes me think it should be possible to run Inferno/Fire on Tezro (there is a license string for it btw). Anyone have any insights?

Here is the output I get from launching Inferno on my Tezro:

Code:
Tezro: /usr/discreet/inferno_2008.SP6 % inferno

Did you try on Tezro "Linux thing" - ayce_all_r_1? Maybe it can help pass hardware check?

Yes, both the AYCE and EDU licenses bypass the hardware check on Linux. I used an unstripped Flint 9 beta Linux binary to find and patch the hardware check function (Quadro and video board check on Linux) , before I knew about the AYCE feature. It was quite simple. Versions before IFF9 don't have the same hardware check, though, and I had to look around a bit for the O2 patch.

Re: Inferno/Fire on Tezro...
Interesting information from Ian Mapleson about VPro usage in DL - <URL url="http://www.sgidepot.co.uk/perfcomp_DISCREET1_FlameTests.html"><LINK_TEXT text="http://www.sgidepot.co.uk/perfcomp_DISC ... Tests.html">http://www.sgidepot.co.uk/perfcomp_DISCREET1_FlameTests.html</LINK_TEXT>.
Besides memory sizes I think one of the biggest advantages of IR (vs VPro) is presense of MSAA.

I did try the AYCE license and it did not work, and there is no EDU license for Inferno (as far as I can tell)

Hmm, we need to think it over what to do next (I mean except patching executable)...

By the way, did you try to setup Lustre (high end color grading utility)? I played with it a little on Windows about 10 years ago and remember that it (as a whole thing or a part) is supplied with DL (both IRIX and Linux). I heard also that Lustre is a rebranded 5D Colossus.

Re: Inferno/Fire on Tezro...
I haven't really played with Lustre (mostly because I don't really even know how to launch or and I never tried). I knew it was based on some sort of colorfront plugin. Do you have 5D Colossus?

Unfortunatelty, no...( But I have 5D Cyborg, it's like a younger brother of Colossus. Downloaded it for about month or so (very little speed) from ed2k.)
Here it is - DL-like interface on NT.)) <URL url="https://www.fxguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2002/10/5D_Cyborgv2.jpg"><LINK_TEXT text="https://www.fxguide.com/wp-content/uplo ... borgv2.jpg">https://www.fxguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2002/10/5D_Cyborgv2.jpg</LINK_TEXT>

Re: Inferno/Fire on Tezro...
Could you try this: in the "inferno_IRIX_6.5_64_SP6" binary (2008 SP6), at offset 18CF578 change hex 11 to hex 15? Do you get any other error message?
