Xenoware Andromeda (Pre-release)

RE: Xenoware Andromeda (Pre-release)
I seem to have a couple oddities. I had to install through `inst -f`to get everything happy, the visual package manager wasn't happy with me. That could entirely be user error, though.

Then I had this coming up:

Code:
greyhound 4% chocolate-strife
1026:chocolate-strife: rld: Fatal Error: Cannot Successfully map soname 'libz.so.1' under any of the filenames /usr/share/xeno/lib32/libz.so.1:/usr/lib32/libz.so.1:/usr/lib32/internal/libz.so.1:/lib32/libz.so.1:/opt/lib32/libz.so.1:
greyhound 5% which xmms
/usr/freeware/bin/xmms
greyhound 6% /usr/bin/xmms
1537:/usr/bin/xmms: rld: Fatal Error: Cannot Successfully map soname 'libz.so.1' under any of the filenames /usr/share/gnu/lib32/libz.so.1:/usr/share/xeno/lib32/libz.so.1:/usr/lib32/libz.so.1:/usr/lib32/internal/libz.so.1:/lib32/libz.so.1:/opt/lib32/libz.so.1:

The xmms call still launched but that seems like an odd error, are there paths I need to add I'm missing? Tried it on an O2 with Irix 6.5.30. Just LMK if I should move this post, wasn't sure where to put it.

RE: Xenoware Andromeda (Pre-release)
I am guessing it requires the libz from IRIXCE, which is a quantifiable possibility that it linked against that - configure scripts are stupid and don't always obey search paths.

Or, optxeno. But I don't know just from that error.

RE: Xenoware Andromeda (Pre-release)
Hey folks,

Haven't had time to update this yet, but I have a massive upgrade to IRIX CE coming. This should be the first release of IRIXCE that should be "decently ready for use" (I know, two versions in, exciting stuff)

The main holdups are packaging, and incorporation of various fixes. After that, I will build Andromeda against it, add some more programs, and then we'll release that as the next iteration. Stay tuned Wink

RE: Xenoware Andromeda (Pre-release)
I have fallen behind as of recent in maintaining dependencies so as a result I have a bit of a backlog here. I have not abandoned this project, I've just been dealing with medical problems and personal time issues which has prevented me from being able to give these the attention they need.

I'm aware that the situation I left the initial release in was not ideal and I plan to fix that among other things. I ask for continued patience since this is basically a part-time job I don't get paid for.
