Anyone have a rack mount SGI?

Anyone have a rack mount SGI?
I find the rackmount SGI servers and visualization systems cool because, at the time, they were basically graphical supercomputers. If anyone here has a rackmount system lying around, please feel free to share.

We have users here with the "big iron" Onyx and Origins but they're far more expensive to run and high maintenance.

The 2U Origin 300/350 and Onyx350/Tezro are far more conducive for running on a regular basis.

Technical problems should be sent my way.

A rackmount Tezro is my primary SGI system. It is a dual 700mhz, 4g ram V12 machine.
I prefer the rackmount mostly because with the exception of the V12 spares are really cheap and fairly available. The graphics board is unique to these machines but standard Tezro/Fuel boards can be modified to work in the rackmount.
It makes no more noise than my deskside Tezro used to.

The later-era rackmounts are a good way to get a lot of power in a relatively small form factor. I've come to really love the Chimera rackmounts, and my rackmount Prism is pretty cool, too. I have threads in the hinv subforum (https://forums.irixnet.org/forum-12.html) about my Onyx4 and Tezro rackmounts. I don't have one for my Prism, though. I'll have to fix that.

RE: Anyone have a rack mount SGI?
Hi Gamebreaker64 & co,

see here for fellow Aussie's, O350 with IR4 stack: https://forums.irixnet.org/thread-2745.html

Here is picture of my O350 stack.
I am in process of upgrading to IR4 (I have all the bits, now waiting arrival of new rack): https://tips.graphica.com.au/content/ima...G_5551.jpg

The question of what is favourite SGI is a personal one, but for me the O350 wins it due to modular expandability/flexibility.
For example:
- Graphics - none, V12 or IR
- PCI - serial, USB, FireWire, Radical or Revolution 7,1 and 10GbE
- CPU: anything from 2 x CPU to 4 x 1GHz per chassis.
- Digital Media: DM3 in chassis
- Ohh yeah almost forgot .... you can also have ATI graphics :-o

I am now almost at 6 x O350 (4 x CPU) = 24 CPU , for no purpose other than liking to play with SGI machinery.

All have come to Australia via sunny California thanks to mopar5150 ;-)

Cheers from Oz,
