Guys this is not a for sale thread. I'm not here to be a forum Nazi but I need you all to follow proper sale procedures if you're going to conduct business on the site. Post a wanted or for sale thread and conduct the business there. Thanks!

RE: O2 R5K -> R10K upgrade : A guide
Thanks for this amazing guide, I tried to follow that for upgrading my O2 5K to 12K and end up with a simple way:
  • I removed this PCI card thing with its metal mount
  • removed the card itself from its metal mount
  • removed R5K from the motherboard
  • removed the two short 5K risers
  • installed the lager 10k risers
  • installed the 12K Processor
  • pressed this PCI Card back into the slot (with out the metal mount) this is very stiff inside the slot no extra screwing necessary.
Done.

The Unit first perfectly Into the 5K O2 without removing or loosing the second Harddisk sled.

It tooks me 8min to do this mod and upgraded successfully my 180MHZ R5K O2 to an 400MHZ R12, everything works perfectly right after power on ;-)
