Changed display settings on Tezro now no display.
Hey Guys,
I changed the power on display settings on a Tezro and now no display.

Is there a way to change the settings from the serial console?

I have searched the forums with no luck.

Thanks,
John

Get a serial null modem cable and a USB adapter, set the baud to 38400, and then use teraterm to connect to the port marked console on the back. It'll drop you to the L1, so power up and then get into the command monitor and change it back.

I have a laptop set up on the console and can log in as root. What is the command to change the display resolution settings in IRIX from the console?

Thanks!

I don't know if it's possible to change the serial console variable, but the command to change variables is "nvram".

As for exact syntax, check the manpage for nvram.

Log in as root using a null modem cable (38400 / 8-N-1) and once logged in type the following:

/usr/gfx/setmon -x 1280x1024_60

Thanks guys!
All is well. Amazing how simple something is with a little bit of info.
I will not make that mistake again.

I have owned both deskside and rack mount, they are great machines.
I prefer the rack tezro because it is a much simpler system from a fan/parts/repair standpoint.

The rackmount Tezro and Onyx350 are the same machine moreorless.
The desktop one, I own. It's a bit louder than an Octane, but quieter than my Fuels were. It's a great machine and been reliable for me.
