Merry Christmas SGI enthusiasts. It’s Christmas time and so it’s time for another release for Silicon Graphics User Group’s RPM Software Environment.

Nothing goes together like the Holidays, Bond and high-performance computing; so please take a moment and enjoy the amazing work of the RSE leads as they have prepared a seventh masterful release of modern software for your modern (6.5.22/30) IRIX system.

This 007 Moneypenny release brings a massive lot of improvements, tons more foundational software packages, numerous bug fixes, and even some fun GUI apps for you to enjoy- all packaged up in svelte and speedy RPM packages. DNF is taking a peek here, as package dependencies come into play. With over 1000 packages now in RSE dependency management is going to be a critical component of installation and upgrades. Now you can launch your RSE apps right from the IRIX Catalog- as we have included icons and launchers for major packages.

Nice to see this done. Some people will probably wanna try it out.

Moving this to the RSE subforum, and the reason is that no development for RSE ever occurs here at irixnet. All we ever get news or discussion of is releases. If it's gonna be in development then we would need to see the actual staff and devs responsible using the site to discuss development. Since that happens elsewhere, you know.
