I mean you could sell everything and move into the woods, like Chris McCandless, but we all know how that ended up. The rat race is exceedingly boring and monotonous, but built for the people who have so called "accepted it". I wouldn't mind just one day leaving everything behind.

No matter what the world throws at you, even though it may seem impossible at the time, work to overcome it and you will and you'll be better for it!

Keep yourself busy doing the things you like and you'll get through it.

If you want some inspiration concerning how lucky you are to be alive, Google: "ATP synthase" and note the marvellous structures that the "Stalked Particles" in your mitochondria are and realise that you're here for a purpose!!! (None of us are here by accident!) They are literally purpose-built spinning motors built on a molecular level!!!!(That's no accident!!!)

I hope you get through the issues your having! Smile

RE: Do we all have to work to own our our lifes ?
I don't have any of that social stuff (gf/wf/kids). I had to decided long long ago that likely I'd never be able marry and never go that route, it's a gravely personal decision (not that anyone was interested in me anyway, so easy choice) based on facts. Some guys don't get the girls, but that's OK, many people I meet aren't even partner material anyway. I decided I wanted my life to be happy and what makes me happy isn't those social things (in fact with an engineering mindset I might actually be neglectful or OCD to them, no matter how much I might truly love them, due to drive of always doing projects).

Freedom and projects/tools/workspaces make me happy. The freedom to wake up in the morning and basically do what I want. Yeah, sometimes it's lonely...but even married guys will tell you after the honeymoon period it's more about tolerance and picking your battles. I'd like to think I could have it all, but I choose to focus on my goals and wants, because that seems to keep me going. I'd rather wake up, see my collection and tools, know that I have that skillset and I made those accomplishments. Feeling pride in what you've done is a required element to being happy.

I can look myself in the mirror and be Okay with what I see. Change hurts but if you truly feel you want a different life, it's something you work on day to day. Nobody became a bodybuilder in a day, no one learned to program in day, no one earned their dream car in a day. It's working towards a goal. Have daily goals, and unless you have children and dependents, you come first.

Take care of you first, then assist those around you.

Yeah there's a bunch existential stuff too, but really, it's about the day to day and your short, medium, and long term plans for you.

RE: Do we all have to work to own our our lifes ?
I'm a deeply religious person, so my answer is gonna be far different than the others here. I won't bore you with religious scripture or anything of my beliefs:

I believe that the point of living is that we are made in the image of the gods who set foot on the Earth firstly, and one in particular created humanity after his wife perished in the birth of the fire god. For me, the goal of life is a constantly moving target encompassing religion, life goals and a desire to create a legacy. I'm sure my critics will have fun with me saying this, as they are capable of great hatred, but for me religious conviction made a huge impact on my life.

It's not for everyone, however. Living is a task, and a challenge. And do you really want to quit, just because it seems too hard one day? I think each and every person is capable of living each day to the fullest, and that's not a hedonistic statement.
