I'm back!

I'm back!
Hello everyone!
I'm back.

After a bad breakdown (and subsequent sale of all my collection), I'm slowly getting back into the game. =)
Missing some of my old boxes very much and regretting getting rid of them (Dodoid's mini Indigo survived, and has some 700 days of uptime as my haproxy box), but today I'm starting with anew with a C8000, deep into the bushes.
I managed to netboot it and I'm trying to get gentoo up and running (very hard to deal with busybox when half of the built-in utilities break due to lack of libraries).

But I'm curious to get into HP-UX. I'm looking for TCOE for OpenGL - I'm taking the year to learn it and support my retrocomputing efforts. Any tips on how to find a copy and how to get started? I think I need 11v1.

I hope everyone is well and healthy. I will browse around to see what everyone is up to - maybe I will find my own answers somewhere =)

Take care!

Hi Shiunbird,

take a look at archive.org or winworld for your OS needs. C8000 is supported by 11v1 but can be used with v2 too though unsupported.

Thank you, Raion. Thank you TruHobbyist.

I'm looking for 11v1 TCOE. Winworld has 9.07 and that's from 1992. =))

Is this what I am looking for?

Actually didn't know there was this link... Seems to me like FOE, but should mount these images to be sure. I see two options, someone lends you a hand or you watch on ebay for tcoe. I never installed that OE, but if you are a graphics guy, it's exactly what you need.

You don't necessarily need to install TCOE from scratch.  I know you could upgrade from MTOE to TCOE with packages from HP's old FTP site.  That's exactly what I did years ago.  The package name started with B6268AA, I believe.  (If you can find that....)

I think (but am not certain) that you could also install the base OS with no OE and then add the (same) TCOE package to get what you need.  Any CD set should suffice, regardless of which OE is included.  Then add the appropriate package for graphics.

Woohoo!
Thanks everyone!

The machine is up and running with Linux now, so I know it is in a good shape.
I need to study for some silly AWS Professional Cloud Jedi random thing - boss pressure - and once it's done I will get it up to shape.

RE: I'm back!
Hi everyone,

I've burned a few different images. This one seems to boot:
http://hpux.irixnet.org/hp-ux/11iv1/HP-U...202%5D.log

I hope this will give me 11i v1 and then I can install the rest of the patches.

Fingers crossed.

edit:
It doesn't match what's here:
https://manualzz.com/doc/22223488/hp-ux-...ervers-and
Is this document relevant?

No good.
It kernel dumps initialising the installation.

Tips?
