Greetings,
after ana ttempt to modity  color depth on Xserver, i'm unable to reach login screen. So I connect mi Octane via serial to pc, but after booting irix i've this  infinite loop message:

dgl error (access): dgl server access denied - 192.168.100.107:0
dgl error (default init): default dglopen(192.168.100.107:0,4) returned -13

Someone can give me a solution or some advices, before format/reinstall all? thanks

You should be able to boot single-user and fix your configuration from there.
Go to the PROM command interpreter (press 5 at boot, either on your serial console or your keyboard) and type "single".

(Most likely, the error is from a program that is getting restarted because of a "restore windows on login" setting in 4dwm; could be an IRISGL demo like buttonfly)

Thanks Roberspierre for your kind reply. I'm in single mode but if I try to modify Xservers file I haven't the right privilege that allow me to modify it. Since i'm not so skilled in this kind of tasks, where I have to looking for, due to understand mode deeply about it?

Single-user mode has root privileges, so I'm afraid I don't know why you have that problem. You should be able to just edit it with vi.

Ok thanks, I will investigate further why, otherwise I will reinstall everything
